Oats vs. Burnt Oats
    #23753013 - 10/19/16 07:45 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Fell asleep. PC ran for 4 hours.
Left jar was shaken a few days ago.
All were made the same day.
Anyone ever try to fruit a tub burnt grains?

The mycelium looks healthy and strong, I think it would work just fine

I have been using oats singularly for around a month or so-maybe more.

I've seared a batch in that time, I spawned them like normal and saw a slight decrease in yield but they still worked. I would spawn them...

Your mycelium looks clean and well grounded... I'd bet money that they will suprise you!

What's the worst that can happen?

It's noticeably slower in all 6 of those jars. The mycelium looks more rhizo as well.

Yea, I was going to fruit them. Kind of expected a reduced yield. It looks like it is harder for the myc to break down the oats.

I have 4 half gallon a jars like this as well. I think I'll G2G those into quart jars for the next round.

I think your idea of G2G on the larger amounts is a good one...

Those 6 quarts should go into a 66qt mono though!!

I bet you get at least 6-7 dry Oz's off of those if the mycelium is clean!

Burnt grains fruit just fine. Slower but fine.
