I'm Pretty Sure These are Liberty Caps, but Need a Second Opinion
    #23751675 - 10/19/16 11:04 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

I went hunting for Psilocybe semilanceata today and found about 40 of them. I think. I'm quite sure. I went to a nearby forest area. They were in the grassy areas, typically away from the trees. Normally solitary, but sometimes in loose groups of three or maybe four. They varied in colour and some seem fairly old, and a few seem fresh. I have enclosed pics and just need someone to confirm they are what I think they are. Thanks

Try open fields rather than forests. You have a mix of Panaeolus and what looks like Psathyrella.

Thanks. There was actually large grassy areas and that's where I went. There were none of this type near the edges were the trees were. Only in the open. What's a good source to start reading up and learning how to identify different mushroom that grow in my area?
