Why? Even if he's under audit, he can release his returns. Only his recent return would be under audit. He could release all the previous years under that theory. Regardless, he could release them. They are just too embarrassing too release. He's lying about a lot of things, and his returns would prove him to be lying. We already knows he owes 615 million to the Chinese government. Imagine what other sketchy shit is in there

He has to run scams like trump university, taking the life savings of people for three days of information you could get using a google search.
The tax form clearly shows he only had about 10 million in income. That is totally separate from his loses. That's a decent amount of money. Anyone could live very well off that amount. What 10 million doesn't do is get you to a billion dollars in less than a century. Also, his earned interest shows that he only has about 125 million in the bank.

Yeah I suppose that's a good a good point. He's undoubtedly a prideful guy so I could totally imagine your assumption being accurate.

If you had a billion dollars, at a minimum you would expect your income in 1995 to be about $55 million dollars and that's if you took the lowest interest rates available that year.

1995 was also the year he took his casinos public and he raised 140 million in the IPO, yet somehow he still wrote off 3000 in capital loses that year. And how'd that work out for stockholders? Their stock was worthless five years later.

His net worth should have nothing to do with earned income in 1995, he's in real estate.

His net worth should have nothing to do with earned income in 1995, he's in real estate.
He also ran a publicly traded company that operated three casinos. See above.

Documents and interviews show he left a legacy of bitterness among onetime proponents, including city officials, casino regulators and citizens. Some came to see that the giant Taj, while outwardly impressive, had little financial substance behind it. Steven P. Perskie, former chairman of the Casino Control Commission and a former state Democratic lawmaker, called it a “Potemkin village.”
Trump made promises to Atlantic City that he did not keep, Perskie said. “When I read and hear him say he was beloved in Atlantic City, that was before [the bankruptcy]. He remembers to perceive how he started, not how he was perceived when he left.”
The Taj bankruptcy was a corporate filing, as Trump has noted. But there was much overlap between Trump the corporation and Trump the man. He owned 100 percent of the casino, documents indicate. As the Taj tumbled, so did Donald Trump, documents show. He eventually gave up half of his stake in three casinos and sold off other holdings, including the 282-foot Trump Princess yacht.
Roger Gros, publisher of Global Gaming Business magazine in Las Vegas, witnessed Trump’s rise and fall in the casino business. He has tracked Trump’s presidential campaign. Gros said the version of events Trump shares on the campaign trail does not square with the events that unfolded a quarter-century ago in Atlantic City.
“His claims now just are not credible,” Gros said.

My god, you're dense.

Dr. P. Silocybin said: I'm no tax expert, but it seems to me that when Trump, and everyone else, writes off loses for "depreciation" they are writing off unrealized losses.
The value of his assets depreciated, but he didn't sell them at that lower value. He wrote off theoretical losses, and used that to avoid paying taxes on real gains. At least that is my uneducated understanding of the situation. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Either way I don't blame Trump for taking advantage of the fucked up tax laws. I blame the politicians who wrote those laws in exchange for kick backs (from Trump).
I don't know how anyone could explain that he didn't lose any fucking money any more clearly.

You don't know what that write off is for. I hardly think all of that 916 million is depreciated real estate. It could be anything worth writing off, including loses from his failing casino business.

His loses were still 91 times greater than his income. Depreciated real estate value is still a loss even if it isn't realized in that tax year.
