Grain or not to Grain?
    #23749248 - 10/18/16 03:15 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Ok so if I can get 65-75% yield with a starch free substrate, which I can assemble open air.
And then get an extra 25-50% using the natural fruiting tek, should I change?

I understand that BE should be better with starchy, rich grains.
But I also see the risk, handling and increased cost.

Other products also have better shelf lives.

Would be nice for data of side by side of the same strains in comparison and the size of your control group before I would cast a vote.

I think he is referring to his tea time tek. It might be great for small runs but lacks expantion ability

I see you have little faith, and never followed my previous WL Tek tests.
Nevertheless I can inform you it expands just fine.

Even done clone to WL Tek to WL Tek.

Spent substrates, wooden dowels, sawdust, cardboard, straw, coir, wood rich compost and enriched paper.

I would like to see some supporting data. I soak my grains with gypsum and either spent tea or coffee for a nitrogen boost. How does it work for less aggressive mushrooms like maitake etc?

Well there you have it, the natural fruiting tek.

Never seen anyone do oysters like that, interesting.

Works well, I've been testing Golden oysters outdoors for years, take a look here.
Not long after I started experiments with oytrers, I made the WL Tek.

Read more in my pocket guide. Enjoy, Ferather.
