What are you best at?
    #23749148 - 10/18/16 02:37 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

What is the one thing you are best at?

What is your greatest and most developed skill?

What skill are you closest to having mastered?

The thing that through natural talent and / or hard work, you are better at than anything else?

For me it is communication through language, either written or spoken, but especially writing.

I have a natural gift for public speaking and writing and developed those natural talents to a very high level through my education.

What is your greatest skill?

A second question is what skill would you most like to master ?

I am best at writing and the skill I am working on mastering next is unarmed combat.

I honestly don't know...

I'm good at rock climbing and Magic the Gathering.
I like to think I'm good at writing seeing as I'm an aspiring author.
But as good as I'd like to think I am at Magic I could always get better.
I guess I'm also pretty damn good at making others see my side of things.

I think I have great endurance and a great attitude.  I enjoy a challenge but am not a poor sport.

If we are talking about skills I am beyond other people I would say acting cool while tripping in public and almost dropping things then miraculously catching them.

I don't think any ability I have really stands out
There are a lot of things I'm good at, but nothing really outstanding

My knowledge of music theory is pretty vast, but that isn't a skill
Skills like discerning harmony and melody by ear, general dexterity, memory... I'm good at, but not particularly for someone with training

I'm also good at rock hounding. I'm not exceptional but it is a skill I pride myself on.

At one time i was best at ice hockey
I was one of the most talented in the world at my age group, OHL potential 1st rd draft pick, that was ten+ yrs ago

Now I'd say climbing trees, not even close to even best in my area, yet it's is what I'm most passionate about, though my "sensei/mentor"" is one of the best on the eastern north american continent

I'm pretty good at painting, drawing, writing, those are my most obvious abilities I'd say. Also I have a very good memory and a love for big concepts which means school's always been easy for me so I suppose I'm good at that. Spatial intelligence is my strongest faculty

music is probably the most mysterious area to me, and for that reason I love music above all other art forms and areas of human endevour, specifically because it is the one area I have very little ability or understanding so it seems the most magical

I dropped out of high school and moved to your country when I was 16 to play for the Kitchener rangers in the Ontario hockey league, my coach was Peter debour who just coached in the Stanley cup and on my team were a number of now active nhl players

I drank and smoked too much and didn't commit fully to my opportunity, and after being cut I stopped playing altogether and became a heroin addict

I am happy now but 8 years following that fate was a dark place in my life

Roofing, siding, soffit and fascia, deck building (probably my favorite).  Anything that can be done to the outside of a house im pretty slick at. It's where I make my moolah.  It's funny what you run into sometimes on people's house's, like how cruddy of a job the person before you has done and the odd things they rigged up to make it work. You can work doing this stuff for 50 years and still run into something you never seen and learn something new.

Used to be real good a hauling shingles when I was younger. I usually have someone else carry most of them for me now a days it definitley takes a toll on your body.  Back when I first started I had to haul shingles for this dude who is still to date the fastest shingle layer I have ever seen.  And I had to carry 55 bundles of shingles up a 2 story houses while he laid them in about 2 hours. People don't need to pay for a gym they can get a just as good or better workout hauling shingles,  while getting paid themselves on top.

Roofing is one hell of a tough job, alot of people don't realize til they get up there.  I've had countless people come work for me only to quit after a day or twom

The 69 position. It is a lost art. Together we can bring back 69 and promote 69 position awareness. Everyone can do it and it is the ultimate motivation to give. It can bring this country together.

I can do a bunch of random stuff like juggle 4 balls and do a few tricks with a chinese yoyo. I can make it look like im blowing out smoke that freaks people out.

The thing that i am best at is probably climbing. Trees, ropes, vines or rocks.

I am really good at making cats like me.

Im good at riding out strong and/or unpleasant psychedelic trips. And im also getting things back on track if things start going bad.

Im good at making and sticking to plans

Im good at emphathizing.

I think your history pieces from that thread you made were fairly well written iirc.  I found them interesting, and I actually read them aloud to my wife, who also found them interesting.

I did roofing on and off for 10 years.  almost exclusively residential.  It's extremely physical and dirty and takes a lot of endurance.  It always took the noobs 3 days to condition themselves.  But those first 3 days are brutal.

The thing that I am best at is music.  Although I don't play much nowadays.  I'm also a pretty good teacher.

Entertaining. My parents have a family video of me at age 7 running around wild trying to entertain everyone at the family christmas dinner. My family always talked about how I was  such the little shitshow. Then I joined acting class during high school and got a standing ovation for one of my performances, had everyone laughing at gut level (was also on shrooms during this play). You asked, so I bragged

I'm a good abstract problem solver.
Which is why I got into programming, and subsequently became (what I consider) a good programmer.

Best skill must be writing though, always has been with me.

I also have a mean pitch, been told by a few people

I used to be a beast at call of duty black ops. Could top score with almost any weapon but I preferred the relatively balanced shotguns and knives.

I ranked Master class (or top 2% of players) in BOPs 2 and I don't think I've played any CODs since that one.

I would have to say fly-fishing.....diagnosing a stream, figuring what the fish are feeding on, and then matching the fly imitation and the presentation to look natural...I also tie my own flies.

It is almost spiritual to me.

Hey, me too.

I don't like to think about how well I do athletic things though, because I feel like that might impede my performance in some way, you know pride comes before a fall type thing, seems like the few times I thought "fuck yeah im the shit" I fucked up soon after.

If I go out and run/cycle, I have a GPS to monitor my speed/distance, so I try to compare my cycling to the pros, and my running I go on a running site and compare my numbers to other road racers.

I do well at running/cycling, or really anything which requires endurance.

Start asap. Fly fishing is the best. It takes many years and casts to become Luke Flywalker Jedi status.
