First time - Contaminated? (pics)

Comparison to another jar from the same batch, and two close ups of one of the concerning jars. A few almost seem more like a sludge than fuzzy. Would appreciate if someone could help me identify what's going on with these. Did they get contaminated, or maybe something survived the PC? I've read sometimes spores can appear sort of purple-ish.. Not sure I'd call this purple, but it's not a dark solid black either. All of them seem to still have some of the normal white colonization, just some are topped with this dark grey fuzz/sludge. Are those all beyond saving at this point?

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I'm assuming it's bacteria from your description of 'sludge'. If you are PCing at 15psi for 90mins check your grain prep. Could be they are too wet when you load them into the jars. And yes, they are beyond saving, dump them.

Appreciate the responses, just needed to hear it before I disposed of them all. I did PC them all at 15psi for 90 minutes. I'd also believe they could've been too wet. My first few batches that're looking a lot better, also seemed drier. I was even wondering if them being too dry was going to be a problem. Seems it was the exact opposite. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid making the same mistake again. Thanks for the help!

those first 2 might be fine; they might all be fine. we cant tell from those pics, its too close and out of focus
try to take a shot further away, and in focus, and we could give you a better idea of if they are salvageable or not

might be fine? It looks like he used 50% wbs and 50% polyfill.

sorry i don't want to act like an asshole.. I like my grain more on the dry site. It comes with experience. I chew on my grain and test if it is 'al dente'. Hard to describe but some have their own methods. I wish you good luck with upcoming grows
