Drinking blackberry mead in the sun.
Made a killing in trades last night.
I'm hungry.
I want a latke.

Just ate some chicken parmesan with buttered noodles and broccoli for dinner
Soooo gooood

In other news my backpack came in, it's pretty damn big but nowhere near big enough to carry my sleeping bag along with everything else
Oh well, I guess I shall just have to carry the sleeping bag on the side as my secondary checked baggage, hopefully that doesn't cost a fuqton extra

I guess a winter sleeping bag is pretty thick, mine roll up to maybe 10x10in, fits in the Alice pack no problem.

Well I am verrry glad to announce that all my gear except my giant sleeping bag fits snug as a bug in a rug in the new backpack

And best of all it only weighs 30 pounds, well below the weight that I was shooting for
There's a huge load off my mind, I wasn't sure if all my stuff would fit but it does, with room to spare

I have a small 1-person backpacking tent as my main shelter, plus a 7x7' tarp with 6 holes, offering me the utmost versatility in terms of how I can set up my campsite
It's a really solid tent, rain-proof as fuck, not very roomy but it'll make for an excellent mobile bedroom, plus I can set up the tarp overtop of it lean-to style for even more protection against the elements

Well depending on when I'll be meeting up with Worm & what not, I'll likely be camping out in the forests of the Colorado Front Range for a while
It's been known to get pretty cold at night, I believe the average low temperature for November-February is roughly ~20 degrees although it has been known to drop down into the teens and verrrry rarely below zero, although for the most part winter in the Colorado Front Range is pretty mild compared to other parts of the state
Of course I don't really know what I'm getting myself into, if worst comes to worst and I can't handle staying out in the cold I'm going to go to a temp agency and save up for an apartment, maybe single room occupancy or something like that

If you plan on camping in a forest get a hammock, trust me. Tents are disgusting and should only be used as a last resort. I can send you a camp hammock if you need one I have an extra.

Yea man I'm definitely gonna try to make my way out to Humboldt especially if I get sick of the cold, should be tagging along with Worm for the Thanks giving gathering but if he ends up not going I might just get me a bus ticket and come out there myself

How so?
The problem with sleeping in a hammock during the wintertime is that they feel 10-20 degrees colder than what the temperature actually is, because you have air moving both above and below you
I mean if you wanna send it out to me feel free, I would highly appreciate it, I'll you with my address, I do have a really good sleeping bag and a closed-cell sleeping pad so maybe I could pull off sleeping in a hammock

I use a 8x6 tarp (approx. measurements), its just 6mm plastic sheeting with a reinforced hole on every corner and another in between. Thinking about obtaining a camouflage tarp so I can leave it setup without worrying about someone spotting it and stealing my gear, same with the hammock, maybe another camo tarp to protect my Alice pack from the rain.
Saw a guy who was riding the rails wearing camo from head to toe, pretty shady but I'm sure it helps.
Anyways, tarps are great, if you level it out so its almost flat you have a lot of space to hangout in the rain. You can tie the guylines to other trees and branches so the whole thing is raised like 7ft high, drop a corner to compensate for the rain in one direction while the other gives you a few feet and a view, or drop both halves for complete coverage from both directions.
