The Way of Illumination, Atheism and Theism's Bridge
    #23747586 - 10/17/16 11:31 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

The point of this by the way, is the bridge the understanding between theism and atheism. Eastern philosophy has taught me that there is an unconsciousness within the mind that can be harnessed, while many atheists trust the modern Western view of psychology. My life philosophy is to earnestly become what you imagine yourself to be and to gain the best perception of reality possible by empathizing and excerizing logic on all points of view. Easier said than done. I however was raised Mormon and Republican and have come this far so I know anyone can if they really try to learn.

I am an Atheist who believes that organized r
religion and delusion could very well destroy mankind. I am a Daoist/Taoist and I see the value in many Universal Unitarian philosophies and the community they create. I believe in the wisdom of Buddhism, Hinduism, and the East in so many ways it's hard to explain. The Isha Foundation and Sadhguru have influenced my perceptions of reality, all the knowledge I gathered I could confirm to be true with the light of the internet, and the experience I've gained myself and from studying the lives of others I empathized with. I love to be inspired by as much history and relevant emotion as I can. So really I find a lot of joy in Celtic, Norse, Greek, Egyptian, and Tolkien mythologies. My passion in music at 14 sparked a new perception and passion for truth that started me on the path to awakening. Even once you are awakened however, the journey has only begun, many seem to see it as the end of the road.

Like Grey-Beard wisdom, it can seem hard to apply to the cold machine of capitalism and war. In America today, it is starting to become a popular opinion that the overlord controlled media has presented the public with two corporate evils and an illusory choice between them. I have to speak my truth that I have painstakingly concluded, Hillary Clinton is the most logical vote if you believe like me that your vote still matters a little despite all the money that has been poured into this election. I know what is sounds like, but if you want a chance for the democratic change Bernie fought for, this is it. Hillary is honestly like Paarthurnax if you really think about it: "What is better, to be born good or to overcome your evil nature with great effort?" This election isn't the better out of two evils, it is the better out of 4. (See John Oliver Video) Jill Stein and Gary Johnson are not worth a vote when you really look into how they plan to accomplish their goals. The Koch Brothers, one of worst overlord corrupters, are in fact not giving money to Clinton and will not vote for her, it is a "blood libel" by their own mouth. The revolution will happen in America, but it most likely will not be this year, I think most Americans are not desperate enough now to throw themselves upon the gears of the machine.

I have many more theories that guide my flame, but not all can be proven by science. I personally believe that Russia hacked the DNC to divide the American people like never before because of our overlord corruption and the contemptuous hatred against the system caused by America's religious drug war. Wikileaks is led by a racist terrorist, Julian Assange, who is an ally to Putin. Who is the real enemy in the world now? In America it can be especially hard to see.

I could also go on forever about the wisdom of emotions and sociology I've learned from Myers Briggs types and Carl Jung's theories, I am an INFP if any of you could tell. XD

I am in an endless quest for perceptual truth and self mastery. This to me, is the Way of Illumination.

A bit too preachy for this place.
Either way I think conscience is a bug sting caused by anxiolytics.

Simply my life philosophy, I am open minded enough to debate. Are you a nihilist out of curiosity?

I don't know about all that OP.

But my Moms into Unitarian church stuff.  I went a few times.  It is intriguing.  I am an atheist as well.  But I heard there are lots of atheists in the Unitarian church.

The social aspect appeals to me, among other things.

I haven't gone a lot either, I few times. When I first read their philosophies I was surprised by how the religion really wasn't structured around faith. Many faiths are allowed to practice their culture and songs, it is structured around community and the understanding of another. It was very refreshing to see, the church also let me and some loving wide eyed communists cook food bank vegetables for the homeless and poor. If one needs a community, it is a good way to find open minded and welcome company. I personally like to practice meditation over community choral songs most of the time.

I love all of Friedrich Nietzsche's work. I have absorbed many perceptions from this infinite light, thus spoke Zarathustra. Sorry that I come off as preachy, my passion for truth can appear so.

My understanding of Nietzsche is that he disavowed the infinite, and instead focused on the "unbermench" or "superman" essentially creating a religion out of hedonism based on the ancient Greek celebrations of Dionysus. Doesn't this contradict your self proclaimed absorption of infinite light?

Not at all, I was merely speaking in metaphors. My definition of god is the Ubermench. "Behold, I am a prophet of the lighting and a heavy drop from the cloud." What is your god? Absorption represents a pure mental state that can be perceptually influenced, logically, through the infinite light, which represents the countless life experiences of people, animals, places, and all the chemical and inspiring interactions in between that can be shared by the light of the Internet.

The worthy will truly be free once mankind can be freed from labour with robots. What if society was based on and valued ideas, innovation, creativity, and contribution the most?

What is your god?

I'm trying to not have one.

It's pretty hard to not have one, depending on what you think the definition of god is. One man's deity can simply be money, power, or success in his endeavors.

maybe we can have a subforum for poetic argument, the rules of poetic discussion there should be different than for those discussions that involve clear definitions and repartee.

both theists and atheists could frolic in the poetic argument forum.

I like that idea, I feel like I am trying to bridge the gap between theists and atheists because I used to be much more of a theist. I take out the deity definition of god and replace it with the Ubermench because it more accurately represents the mystery of the higher ego or consciousness. If we talk bout the traditional deity god, my view is that of George Carlin and Bill Hicks.

I want to be among those who respect open-minded debates about the truths of reality. We are just beginning to understand how the brain functions, let alone what it may be capable of.
