Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of marijuana is floating off Florida's coast and are being washed up onto its beaches, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
"There has been a significant spike in drugs washing up on shore," said Todd Bryant, the division chief for CBP in Miami. He said the increase might reflect a "shift in smuggling methods" by those who traffic in illegal drugs.
CBP said between Sept. 15-Oct. 12, almost 400 pounds of marijuana worth more than $300,000 were found in several places on Florida's coast.
Regardless of how it got there, CBP warned people Monday that anyone who finds suspicious packages on the beach should call law enforcement right away, and should not take possession of them.
"If you are out on a boat or on the beach and you see a suspicious package, call local law enforcement immediately," said Bryant. "Attempting to keep the suspicious package can place you in danger, as violent criminal networks will attempt to recover their narcotics."
CBP encouraged people who see suspicious packages, or who might see the smuggling of illegal immigrants, to call 877-772-8146.

Garbage brick weed. I'd estimate the value closer to $40,000.

They are referring to the police departments.

Is it safe to call it sea-weed now?

It is Florida, so you can safely assume DEA/Mrine Patrol/Local Sheriff did this as an entrapment to do asset forfeiture on your boat/yacht when you pick it up(posess it) likely being watched by drone and has a tracker in it!.. They will take your vessel and vehicle, bank accts and home if you make it home with it!!! hands down an entrapment move... Florida coast hasn't been used as a succesfull trafficking point since 80's(MIAMI VICE times) You cannot even enjoy a day on the water w/o being stopped/boarded and ID ran repeatedly by(local city police, marine patrol, coast guard, county sheriff, fish and game, border agents etc etc) they all have boats, atv's,seadoos and the like.. None of them communicate recents stops so you are boarded regularly for 15mins to an hr over and over.. During lobster season and a week before they overwhelm the waters to catch poachers, shrimp season same thing, whole summer there out it never ends!!! Its the one access that has been shut down from drug smuggling and completely funded by asset forfeiture...

That's not true. And Florida isn't the only place this happens. My buddies from Jamaica say this shit happens there all the time too, and I really doubt Jamaican police are trying to set people up.
