I was hunting for gyms like I usually do and came across these I haven't seen them before my bet is they are some kind of Stropharia but the purple sore print and the fact it was growing in a huge cluster on a hardwood tree interested me.

Actually, given the scales in the last picture, that's probably wrong.

What do you think about Psathyrella? Some of them can be pretty big. I'm not really sure.

I've found lightly scaly hypholoma lateritium on several occasions (including today)

Thank you everyone for the reply but your right they are hypholoma lateritium good job it was cool to finally find something different after all these years I have never seen them here threw me for a loop thanks again.

I've never seen them in person, but I've never seen any pictures that have scales that are so pronounced.
