A few last minute questions on my first ever grow kit....
    #23744757 - 10/17/16 08:03 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Hi all,

First post here. I apologise if these questions have been asked many times before on this forum but I have searched and am still a little confused so bare with me.

I have grown some Psilocybe cubensis b+ using a grow kit. Many of the mushrooms have grown rapidly and the veils have broken overnight on some of them where as some others haven't even sprouted yet or are tiny. I am wondering do I need to pick these mushrooms with the broken veils immediately? Is it ok to pick these alone and let the others grow for longer or do I need to harvest the whole lot together? I have read about the broken veil mushrooms producing spores and this becoming a mess? Do I need to be concerned about this? What is wrong with the spores do I need to clean the mushrooms if they have spores on them? I have no idea.

Once picked I don't need to keep the mushrooms especially clean with disinfectant and gloves etc do I? Once picked I am growing to dry them to use at a later date.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just snip off the ones that are ready as close to the base as possible without harming other fruits...spores taste like shit.
No need to be clean about harvesting.

Thanks. So by snip you mean simply snip them of with scissors? If I am hoping to get further flushes out of the kit do I not need to removed the whole mushroom? I could do this at a later time if needed.

I'm not to concerned about taste as these are mainly for microdosing so will be put into capsules.

Yep just use scissors to harvest..leaving a little bit of stump behind is fine.
