whats for dinner?
    #23743160 - 10/16/16 04:54 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

So tonight I decided on going simple for dinner. Making some fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and steamed broccoli. This got me curious though what others were doing for dinner. So what are your plans?

I lived on ramen noodle and peanut butter crackers for a long time. I can completely understand that.

Fried flounder sounds great actually. When we do fish it is usually some tilapia because my wife hates that "fishy" taste that comes with some fish like salmon.

That chili sounds pretty good Morel Guy.  I might have to get the crockpot out and make a bunch later this week, especially if the rain and cool weather continues.

Just ate some leftover spaghetti my girl made last night while I was at work.  Nice flavor to the sauce and it had a little bite which I liked.  It's only 4 here so I am bound to be hungry in a couple hours so I might eat the chicken salad I made yesterday to top things off.

My neighbor raises goats for the slaughter. Been tempted to try some goat meat at his next reaping. I hear it is pretty savory.

On a side note I am off to town because I got everything ready to fry the chicken only to realise I had no chicken. Be back in about an hour.

Keep the moth watering goodies coming. Homemade chicken salad is nom nominous. What type of greens and stuff do you put in it? I like fresh cranberries in mine personally but for greens we use a mix lettuce blend and spinach leaves.

Goat

Healthiest red meat.  122 calories per 3 ounce serving.  Almost 23 grams protein per 3 ounces.  Low in fat and saturated fat.  Low in chloroestrol.  Less calories than venison.  Only thing as good is white fish and that isn't as savory.

I like the chops and steak marinated overnight on one sid then all day an the other, in teriyaki sauce with liquid smoke.  Damn good stuff!  Makes great tacos and curry dishes!  Awesome chili

I usually add some celery but we didn't have any in the house this time.  Our landlord has a couple grape vines in the backyard so I threw in some little table grapes, they are the perfect size, about the size of a peanut.  I haven't added any other greens before really, I will have to add some spinach next time.  And cranberries sound good too.

And we went to make an egg casserole type of dish this morning and realized we didn't have any eggs.  Fail.

Lol!! I just drove to market and forgot it's closed on Sunday. Double fail for me resorting to frozen pizza.

Sooo jealous of the grape vines. Should ferment and make some wine.

They table grapes are too low in sugar and acidity to make any sort of decent wine I have found out.  And the other ones are concord grapes which taste like candy they are so good.  We made a 3 quarts of grape jam last week, and there are still a ton of grapes left on the vines.  My landlord gave us some grape juice that had he mixed in some vodka from last year with them that was pretty good so we may just do that with the next batch.

When I moved to Arizona we went to a Mexican restaurant and I asked the guy if the fajitas (which I pronounced Fa-GI-tas) were any good. He replied to me "sir we sell fajitas, there are no vaginas on the menu here!" I could have had an aneurysm I laughed so hard.

Found out though that fajitas taste ppretty damn good.
