Shrooms, DMT and Ayahuasca, what's the connection in experience ?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me. I'm just curious to the effects of Ayahuasca, I have tried magic mushrooms a number of times with each being a pleasant experience. afterwards I feel at great ease and as if I am completely happy with the world . I feel, when on shrooms, I am fed wisdom from a greater being. I have smoked DMT twice and felt my experience was completely different in a way that I never got any understanding from it The only way I can describe it is being in place of black and white shapes vigorously moving, there was no thoughts only patterns, it didn't really give me any insight. Did I not have enough ?
Anyways I would like to know if anyone has experienced ayahuasca and their opinions the experience, is it more like my DMT experience or Shroom experience? The reason I'm asking is because if I did try Ayahuasca, if it was like my DMT experience, which was really intense but with no particular meaning, i.e. no thoughts, I'm not sure I would want to be in that state for hours.
Thank you

IME, its the combination of both. Ayahuasca's CEV is very intense for me, and these visuals carry with them a lot of insights. Well its not really thoughts I'd say, but more of understandings through what's being shown.
I've smoked DMT only in the form of changa, which resembles the visuals of ayahuasca, but got less understandings.. it's beautiful and blissful but if you want to rock your world and change your life, aya is the way to go.
Although, you probably didn't smoke enough, because the border between "nice" experience and "mind blowing" one if very thin. With the right amount and the proper smoking method, you can literally become another person.

Hi Zack thank you for the reply, I stand corrected it was Changa I smoked, so this maybe the reason it like you said , may not have had enough. Could I just ask about your Aya experience, did you visit a retreat to experience this or in a different setting? I like to have my Shroom experiences with maybe one other person I know and trust, although I realise Aya is a lot stronger, the thought of it being in a group of strangers, doesn't put me off, but I do wonder if it's better to experience aya in your own way, or if it does help with a Shaman to guide ?

My experiences were in my house, I did them alone, although I had my lady with me in the house, so if you're planning on doing it alone, a trip sitter is a must and I would suggest a low dose to start off with. I don't have any experiences with shamans, but IMO - it is not a must at all. Actually I prefer on doing it in a comfortable environment with people I know or at least I trust. The whole ayahuasca spirits and ceremonies with smoke and everything would probably freak me out.
Me and couple guys I know are planning to do a "ceremony" together somewhere in nature in the near future. I honestly don't know if its preferable to do it by yourself or not, but if you have the chance to do it with someone experienced, I would definitely go for that.

Go for the Aya. It's amazing but can be terrifying at times. Definitely more useful than smoked DMT. Smoked DMT is a bit of a waste imo, even in Changa even though i've had some great experiences with Changa, it's just not as full on as Aya (though in some ways it can be, depending on the amount of Harmalas you use).

They are all a variant of DMT. I've never smoked DMT but I've found Ayahuasca and Mushrooms to be much more similar to eachother than to LSD. As a psychedelic, I would say Shrooms are superior to Ayahuasca because you don't have to deal with dangerous MAO inhibition, vomiting, and a feeling of death.

All the same result; oneness and eternal bliss in a optimal trip, confrontation and acceptance of the true manifestation of self.
Ayahuasca and DMT is overhyped, it's the exact same results as properly done Mushrooms.
The reason people say Aya and DMT are more profound because they are dosed properly. You don't take an equivalent of an 1/8th when you take ayahuasca, it's about 5 to 7 grams of mushrooms. So taking the same will yield the same result, it's all DMT.

MAO-A inhibition from Harmalas is not dangerous. Only thing you have to be careful about are certain medications or drugs. Harmalas are actually quite safer than most people seem to think, imo/ime. No food interactions at all, no need to worry about Tyramine, and as the Harmala reverse tolerance builds up all the undesirable side-effects go away like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, body load, and allows you to handle strong/heavy dosages with ease, it feels so much cleaner/clearer. Harmalas/Rue actually feels quite healthy to me, at least once the reverse tolerance is built up some.
I haven't worked with Shrooms much, but i do hope to in the future. I want to mix Shrooms with Rue and get the best of both worlds so to speak, maybe even have both Shrooms and DMT with Rue (i've done it before, just with a really low dose of Shrooms but was still enough to contribute a bit to the experience which i found pretty interesting). I just like DMT-containing plants because they're easier to obtain currently than Shrooms, they seem pretty consistent, and DMT is natural/endogenous to the Human body, as well as NMT which is in Acacia. Shrooms probably do share similar characteristics to DMT, but i really love the Mimosa and Acacia roots.
Plus, Rue/Harmalas adds a certain aspect and effects to the Psychedelic whether it's DMT, Shrooms, LSD, or whatever. I rather like what Rue/Harmalas has to offer/contribute. I also wanna get around to mixing both Rue and Caapi, then have some Mimosa or Acacia, and some Shrooms, while smoking Cannabis during, sounds like quite the combo to me.
