Perhaps you were getting kratom which was sprayed with some sort of herbicide/pesticide? I have heard of this before. I have never experienced headaches/nausea from kratom when taken with water/coffee, the two times I have experienced nausea from kratom were from consuming it with green tea, so I don't know if something(l-theanine?) in the tea didn't work well with it.
If one could find a way to live in a country where kratom grew and get involved in the scene there, then you could set up an operation that the kratom you were growing was pesticide/herbicide free, you could then market it as such with a clear conscious, and make bank.
it seemed similar to various prescription opiates(I recall from various tooth operations), ever opiate type thing I've experienced kind of feels nasty to me, it might be its something sprayed on it but I also feel like shit from alcohol, I think I'm just rather fragile. A lot of things make me nauseous

The only story I know of kratom being for sure laces was some capsules that had caffeine powder in them...
"Supposedly" the vendor was requested to make them for a special order and then was never paid and they "accidentally" got mixed in with peoples orders...
People saw the light powder in the caps and investigated though and some people ended up with bags of like 5-10g caffeine powder from however many caps.
I think 5-10 caps was like 4-6 cups of coffee so its really lucky no one got hurt. Anyways it clearly happens but yeah its quite rare.
All the more reason to keep it legal and regulated. Only reason people can get away with crap like that is the ban scare...

So I am told that the tolerance to kratom goes down to nothing after a small break
lets say I was taking 1 gram a day. Over a period of time, I took 10grams to get this effect due to tolerance (obviously not realistic. but just hypothetical)
if I took a break, my tolerance would go down. But if I took a break would it go down like weed? back to 0? Or is tolerance semi-permenant? like it would take 5g's to hit that level even after a long break?
I never reached a serious point of kratom usage so I have little exp in this area. Please let me know. I always alternated days and strains

The longer of a break you take the more your tolerance will drop.
The shorter your habit the faster it will drop.
Some things like mementine should help reset tolerance.
The tolerance might never go back to zero but it should get close to zero with a long enough break.

damn this last part is a bummer. This implies its permanent tolerance
But whatevs. I follow some basic rules on frequency and as such I don't think I will have huge issues

https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/Kratom#Tolerance_and_addiction_potential Tolerance to many of the effects of kratom develops with prolonged and repeated use. The rate at which this occurs develops at different rates for different effects, with tolerance to the constipation-inducing effects developing particularly slowly for instance. This results in users having to administer increasingly large doses to achieve the same effects. After that, it takes about 3 - 7 days for the tolerance to be reduced to half and 1 - 2 weeks to be back at baseline (in the absence of further consumption). kratom presents cross-tolerance with all other opioids, meaning that after the consumption of kratom all opioids will have a reduced effect.
https://kratomreviews.wordpress.com/2013/04/18/kratom-tolerance/ In order to decrease your kratom tolerance, you must take a break to allow the neuro-receptors to “reset.” Over time, the receptors will return to their natural state. When the individual resumes kratom usage, the receptors will be impacted as though it’s the first use.
I found this. In regards to addiction potential/tolerance. So I guess between moon/kratom blogs theres a few mixed opinions. Its prolly gonna be different for different people. Genetic differences and such. I noticed 0 tolerance at all. But as I said, my use never got "heavy". I never really consistenly did back to back days

I don't have any reason to suspect kratom tolerance is permanent.
My point was more it will surely go down to close to zero with Time.
Opiate tolerance tends to reset quickly compared to benzos and dissociative drugs.
I only have heard of permanent tolerance with dissociative drugs .
Heroin addicts die when they relapse after sobriety because opiate tolerance goes back down to baseline.
I wouldn't worry about permanent tolerance.
Just take a break and don't use daily.

Moonshoe I am still waiting to notice any effect from SAM E. Will keep you posted. Where does one find memetine? Is that a nootropic or rc?

You could call it a nootropic. It's not an RC but actually a prescription anti alzheimers medication. It's available clear net in Canada .
It is an extremely interesting medicine. Like Ketamine it is an NMDA antagonist dissociative.
A few of its uses- preventing and reversing opiate and stimulant tolerance, treatment of general anxiety disorder and preventing/ counteracting some of the harmful effects of serotonin syndrome.

hey so since posting this I have still been tweaking with the dosages. I still stick to below 2 grams. 0.5 to 0.75 grams and thats been working just swell. Like I said already, I see it as a supplement to well being. Not really a drug in the classic sense
Anyways, I was wondering how those with higher kratom dose habits function? In higher amounts, kratom gives me hangovers, ruins my sleep, makes me wanna puke, and just is unpleasant. With regular dosing, I notice a mild dehydration. Easily fixed by just drinking water

like this is a pretty high daily dose. I have seen people online doing 30 gram a day habits. Or 7 gram twice a day dosing
Does anyone else get side effects? does the cross tolerance to heroin/morphine/opium make the side effects of kratom lessen?

Yeah I've used 10-20 grams daily for a few weeks with no issue. But tolerance did get to me a bit there.

The only issues kratom had for me were nausea and vomiting if I took too much too quick and tolerance dependence and a WD but otherwise no side effects and I felt great all the time .
Doses of 30 grams a day plus are pretty common.
I don't recommend it though your tolerance just adjusts and you end up getting the same benefits from 10x as much leaf.

Really helps motivate me to do shit that I normally wouldn't want to. Even though I have taken 30g a day at times there usually isn't much benefit in redosing. Nowadays I only take a second dose if I wake up in pain. It's best to take an 8gram dose on a near empty stomach around when I wake up. Only times I've puked is when I've made it into tea. Or once I was having a really bad day and ate I dont know how much it was an extract. Overdose on Kratom is pleasant compared to many other drugs. Tremor and feeling dizzy. It feels bad for a while but once I puked it just felt like a regular dose. Prefer eating drugs cause If you overdose just start guzzling water and puke away.

I mostly use kratom now to avoid cravings for fentanyl/heroin which I was addicted to for a long time.
But I've been off those for so long now I can get really good buzzes from kratom. I find it very uplifting and when using the right amounts it can be great for both relaxation and also for an energy boost.
I do have a high tolerance to kratom and use 10-13 grams a dose and up to 40 grams a day though usually it's around 30-35.
I've been using it for about 15 months daily at this point. I definitely get withdrawals when stopping but because it is cheap and available I never go through withdrawals, I just keep using it.
I've also successfully used it on my working days when working shifts of 77 hours a week, and never ran into any problems. It's been a really great addition to my life.
Can't say everyone will have such a good experience using it but I certainly am.
