Damn, that sucks dude.
The only time I got a headache from kratom, was when I used a green vein type, other than that I never get headaches from it, but read if you take to much it can cause them.
Green vein kratom always makes me feel strange, I don't like it, so don't take it.

musiclover420 said: Sounds like you were just dosing too much, I have found 4g in a day is around where I start getting foggy from it.
1~g 2-3x daily is perfect though and gives me little to no negative side effects.
This. I just saw this post. I have been experimenting throughout the week and this is basically it
using 2-3 grams or even less is solid. I never do back to back days. And I never mix with alcohol. (i drink once a week at this point)
I think I was dosing 4 grams or something twice daily because I had a higher tolerance. I drank way more coffee and smoked way more weed in that phase of my life. I also occasionally was addicted to nicotine (dip, snus, snuff) on and off and I think I had quit amps. As a result, I was less sensitive to the ups and downs of my bodily functions etc. As a result, I think I failed to accurately find that sweet spot
At this point, even 0.5 grams gives me a kick. I like that. I think using kratom to get high is silly. this is just a nice overall supplement. If you go in or use it with the intention to "Get high" then you will inevitably have issues down the road
also; I think a few on this forum way underestimate the addiction potential for kratom. Luckily, I am using small dosages. but using up to 15-30 grams a day has some insane withdrawls. Like absolute hell for two weeks. /r/quitkratom on reddit has some insane stories. So the key here is just don't dose more than 2 days back to back, and stick to lower amounts. And wean if you have to. Better to just not get addicted than to reach a point where you need to wean

not much I don't like it, too many gross side effects even at lower doses to be worth the mild high for me. Headaches and nausea primarily

Personally I can't get high from kratom if I try.
I get an awesome antidepressant energy boost from a single tsp and if I push for a high I get nauseous and vomiting.
I do redose every few hours throughout the day though .
Because kratom is just an antidepressant for me I am switching to SAME because it's as good an antidepressant without the dependence and WD issues.
SAME can even have a good high sometimes.
I was a full blown kratom addict for years and gradually managed to cut down to the point of not facing any real WD without it and now I'm in the process of quitting it altogether.
I can't stress strongly enough to newer users- don't make the mistake I did and use kratom every day.
Doing so will ruin kratom for you and screw you over with dependence and WD.
If not used more than 3 days a week I maintain that kratom is easily one of the best drugs in existence.
Just don't do it!

Perhaps you were getting kratom which was sprayed with some sort of herbicide/pesticide? I have heard of this before. I have never experienced headaches/nausea from kratom when taken with water/coffee, the two times I have experienced nausea from kratom were from consuming it with green tea, so I don't know if something(l-theanine?) in the tea didn't work well with it.
If one could find a way to live in a country where kratom grew and get involved in the scene there, then you could set up an operation that the kratom you were growing was pesticide/herbicide free, you could then market it as such with a clear conscious, and make bank.

ya what fennario said was true. A lot of the lower grade kratoms are laced with opiate-type RC's right? I have noticed more shitty effects from the lower quality kratom
Also; I was surprised at how much of a difference the strain really does make
And moon: I tried SAME and it works well. I took it a few times a week. In the lower dosages its nice. But kratom is the hands down best and least side effect anti-depressant. more effective and gentle than SAME IMO. But you do you lol

That is just the kind of response I would expect from you Pris...
I know your joking most likely but it isn't funny.
Tons of people could benefit from all the kratom people waste trying to catch a buzz.

Kratom is quite multi-purpose in my experience:
First and foremost, it helps manage my chronic pain. As a teenager I was diagnosed by mayo clinic as dealing with myofascial syndrome.. the casings which hold my muscles flare and inflict widespread pain. This suffering resulted in being assigned a steady stream of narcotics. They were effective in masking my symptoms.
I attended the Rosomoff Pain Center and learned the importance of using ice, pt, occupational therapy, biofeedback, etc. Then the fall of the pill mills occured, and I co asidingly moved back north. When the doctors there recieved me, they promptly cut off my diet of painkillers without so much as a taper. I was screwed, the pain revealed itself tenfold, and I experienced withdrawal. The heroin epidemic took me in without bias, and I cross addicted to poisoning myself the illegal way.
It took the od of my close friend and partner in crime to seek out an alternative. Fueled by the senselessness of his death, I again traded addictions and began using kratom daily.
This allowed me to get and stay clean.. and I have the utmost of gratitude for this lesser of many evils.
This depicts the backbone of my use, it certainly helps me get through doubles at work, on my feet for 14 hours at a time. I can recall when I was using heroin and my first friend died, that kid was essentially my younger brother and despite the sorrow, I continued to use and loathe myself deeply every time for my hypocritical yet helpless choice.
I look back and concedingly feel so sad that I couldn't save them, especially with Pawel's passing, sometimes I go and sit at his grave, eat kratom, and bawl my eyes out. If only..
TL,DR- Kratom is currently what allows me to function and excell like a normal human being. It is the first remedy that effectively manages my pain without a single detrimental side effect. I used it to get clean, it allowed for a smooth transition from heavy narcotic/opiate use, and because of kratom I never looked back, not once.
Since becoming a daily user, I have consequently stopped self medicating with alcohol.. haven't had a sip of a drink since new years.. I used to consume a handle every week, straight to the face.
In addition, I have shared kratom with my mother for her panic attacks, and given it to her friend for achy joints- she happened to loose her son a couple years back (hope sheds light)..

A lot are laced ? I doubt it. I think laced kratom is extremely rare.
SAME doesn't work taken a few times a week. The way SAME works is through daily use. It takes at least a week of daily use to begin working and doesn't reach full Effect until around a month of daily use.
It also has to be taken properly , on an empty stomach and don't eat for 90 minutes after. And it needs to be taken with a b vitamin complex and it needs to be enteric coated and blister packed.
Dosage also matters- I take the maximum dose of 1600 mg a day.
Point being if you took it a few times a week you never experienced it's benefits.
Kratom can't be called the antidepressant with least side effects either - it's physically addictive and causes withdrawal, as well as causing nausea and vomiting.
SAME doesn't have any side effects in the vast majority of cases and isn't addictive and has no WD which is so important.
And it has just as many benefits for the liver and the joints as it is for the mood.
Kratom was the best antidepressant for me but I need an antidepressant for every day, and I don't want to be physically addicted to anything.

Btw Moonshoe, I am about two weeks in taking Sam E, 400mgs.
PS, the notion of kratom being laced with RCs is complete and utter nonsense. This made me lol.

I read somewhere on here that a kratom vendor was caught lacing their shit with tramadol or some opiate RC?
If I find it again, I will link it. I am not talking about the quality trusted vendors that show up on reddit.com/r/kratom. Most of the ones I have been recommended on the shroomery/from shroomery users I have had little/no side effects from. The 2 times I bought kratom from a headshop the stuff tasted "off" and one of the batches I bought def gave me more side effects than normal. Keep in mind this is back when I thought kratom from a headshop was the exact same as online vendor kratom. Not the case
it could be placebo so its hard to say. But to be clear, I am talking about this type of kratom: http://www.lotussmoke.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/1276599_1400926213512345_1220545902_o1.jpg http://www.ozsmoke.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Lawrenceville-IMG_6196-XL.jpg
Big flashy letters. Colorful. Poor quality labels. Really hyped. "This WILL get you fucked up bro!" type attitude all over the package

Yeah I am sure it has happened I just think it's incredibly rare to the point of being virtually non existent.
Just like people always talk about "laced weed " and of course it does happen but it's so rare it's barely worth thinking about.
