Panaelous onto grain with coffee?

Hi guys,
Do you know if a happy wedge of panaelous will flourish okay on grain that has been prepped for stones.. i.e. with coffee soak added?
Thanks

Oh thanks for that.
Do you think an isolate is necessary, or would a good slab of mycelium from the first plate containing a collection of spores would fare just as well in terms of output?

Depends on genetics...a stable line just a clean wedge would be fine...wild print I'd shot for isolates to test.

Oh no I got mine from a vendor I can count on
I have gone through quite a few pan cyan teks and I can see that for most part, they seem to be housed in multiple round containers, rather than a single tub? Have you had any success with, say following a straw tek like this one:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18249265#18249265
It looks like Stropharis has put them all in a big monotub with some kind of white rocks on the bottom? Is this something to provide extra humidity? Is there a reason why he could not spawn them into just the one container?
Cheers

You can spawn pans to straw in a mono tub np.

Ah okay. I am guessing that he has been attempting to isolate fruit bodies in the event that one may get contaminated and could be separated from the others, based on the higher chances of contamination for this species, rather than the more robust cubes?
Cheers

He likes his isolates but I don't see much diversity in pans just a bit more consistency with isolates.

Hey Cronicr,
It looks like Stropharis has 5% coffee in his substrate. Do you think he just means spent coffee grinds?
Do you find the ratios are very critical - or do you mix up within a certain tolerance of what the mix says - i.e. 65% straw - so we just fill the mixing tub a bit over half or do you carefully mark out the half-way point etc.
Does the straw also need to be cut to a certain length? I can get straw mulch from Bunnings.
Thanks for your help, sounds like you have a bit of experience with this

Yes strong uses spent grinds by volume but it is by no means critical and yes the ratios can be a rough estimate. Straw should be cut to nice short lengths

Hey Cronicr,
Looking at a few of the teks that are around for pan cyans - It seems there are a few tub configurations around. Some people are using dub tubs (such as stonesun) and others are using mono tubs. Do you know the reason why anyone would want to use a dub tub over a mono tub?
Do you think a 40-Quart monotub with six 1.5" holes is going to cut the mustard? I could drill another hole or two above so that I can dial it in?
