Kept finding these things in PNW runoff area ivy
    #23741449 - 10/16/16 04:20 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

PNW was growing in the ivy, wherein the ivy has trapped chips and woody detritus as it drains down the hillside. It looks like they dump chips down the most muddy parts to maintain a suitable trail.

I didn't see any large or rotted matures. They'd just grown. The stems felt like psilocybes but also like psathyrella. They didn't smell like anything when crushed. It came to me as odd that they didn't smell like fungus at all.

Couldn't swab for a print, as it was far too wet. They'd just been flooded and were actively being.

Nothing really stood out to me except that they - in the most literal term - grow by the thousands. Where there's ivy there's clusters of these. There was tubaria, mycena and hypholoma growing on the soil and wood that was higher up and didn't seem to get flooded. A lot of pan looking mushrooms were growing not far away I guess they allow horses in this area. So I'm really confused.

If there was bruising I couldn't see it. Pinching them was brown. Some specimens dissolved when handling roughly.

Neat little things, just wondering what they are if anyone could help please.

Cortinarius sp.

I give you the choice of 2 pills.

With each containing one of the following:
Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk?
Didn't think so.

This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.
