Hey Pastywhyte I have the same jar setup as you, and i wanted to run something by you. what do you think about injecting myc from agar into the lq to it doesn't have to be opened.
I think we can achieve this by PC'ing a syringe with water in it and spraying it onto the agar and sucking it back up, that way nothing has to be opened.
And possible adding a glass marble to the jar to help mix it.
Sorry if this is a dumb idea i'm just a nub.

Well ya don't need a marble, it will grow thick and into the liquid media just fine. However I don't like the idea of injecting through the SHIP more than absolutely necessary, by only injecting once it cuts down vectors.
However that said, what you propose will work. I guess at that point it's no different than injecting the myc water into a regular LC. So at that point I'm not sure I would bother with the agar mix. By the way I have started LC that way and it works. Just extra vectors with going through the SHIPs more than needed.

Thank you, good sir. Definitely the most informative, in depth, and functional LC EVER! wow. truly excited about this one.
this tek is to lc what the pasty plate tek is to agar and then a whole lot more.
Still in shock of how awesome this is.

Honestly what it's gonna come down to at that point is what a person is comfortable with. I have poured liquids, used SHIP's, and cracked lids to aspirate. To be honest my success rate with all those was quite good. All comes down to what a person is comfortable doing. If you have done as much G2G as I have the notion of pouring is pretty easy to get used to.
So if you ain't comfortable with pouring then go with what you are comfortable with

I think pouring is less risky in the short term, while aspirating is definitely less risky in the long term. I see using a syringe as automatically adding two vectors (not including inoculate itself). The syringe itself, and the fact you opened the lid(Or your SHIP, probably similarly as risky). By pouring, you have only one vector added, the fact you opened the lid. Problem is pouring only allows for one set of inoculations. By pouring you get a little run over on the lip. You can't really assume that to be safe anymore and put it back if you didn't use it all, right? Shit's gonna wick right from the edge down into it and fuck the whole thing. So for single use LCs and LIs I see pouring as pretty viable, just not if you actually intend to continue storing the thing.

Ok pasty question is if i what to make produce lc form this tek. Couldn't i just inject a half a ml in more agar jelly jars like a 100 of them. I know you hate ships but the ease of injecting 5 ml of lc in 600 jars feels easier and less costly then the g2g form your 60 to 600.

If you are asking if you can do edible species with this the answer is of course. Asian producers use a lot of LC to produce their gourmet mushrooms.
If that's not what you are asking then please rephrase the question.

Im asking if transfering your master lc into more of your agar jars is a easier to transfer then cutting wedges? And then you could use each of the new jars for more lc. Good to know about edibles i love them so much.

You could start and expand that way. Just watch the recovery on the agar carefully to be sure the master inoculate was clean. But yes that could work fine, in fact I already did that a few times with no issues.

Don't worry Pasty - he has government super Shrooming agents to clarify for him...

I have results. 24 quart jars were inoculated with your ezLC. All 24 jars colonized in 10-13 days with 1 shake at inoculation and another around 40-50%. 1-2cc's per quart jar during inoc.
Grain spawn was oats via Inocuole's link in my signature. I just spawned 4 monos with the colonized jars. Everything seems to be textbook.
Nice tek Pasty. Worked like a charm.
I am now thinking about larger amounts of ezLC. Same lid config with larger amounts of agar at the bottom of a wide mouth quart jar?
I used a half-pint for the initial testing... I might try to fill a quart with x4 amount of agar and go again?
Sort of thinking out-loud here.... The water really leached the agar quickly. Upping the nutrient supply while upping the water in relation would all be the same really...
This seems like an awesome way of using LC without the added blahblah...
Nice job. It worked like a charm...

Yeah it will scale. I haven't done quarts but I have done pints and it worked the same. I imagine a quart would do fine. Glad you like.

This AA+ ms is looking nice and clean. Nearly time to add water but thought I might let it grow to the edges just in case.
