Much less hassle than my tek. + no need for special equipment like stirrer or stir bars. I give it a try
Keeping it simple and effective is the way to go. I tend to complicate things sometimes.

Awesome Tek mate.
I wonder if you could put a stir bar or a screw in there somehow as well.

No need for this with this tek. That's what makes Pasty's tek better than my tek.

How long can folks usually keep LC in the fridge without worry? Realize you should always test if it's been a while. Just not sure how long "a while" actually is. I would assume, if you wanted to make, but not use for a few months that leaving it on a shelf may cause it to overgrow before one has time to use it? Thanks for the tek pasty! Always keeping it cheap, simple, easy, and understandable for the novice.

I used a one and a half year old LC syringe with OK results. The shorter the better but i think you won't have problems storing it about 3-6 months.

Yeah I have used LC over a year old but I never would advise that. The colony at that point is sitting in its own metabolites and losing vigor. Keep your cultures vigorous.
The beauty of this method is that you can toss and start fresh LC very fast. It takes me some time to use a quart of LC and by the end it's losing vigor or it goes in the fridge. Roll with these any you have plenty of culture for the home hobbiests needs and none goes to waste.

This method would probably work very well with pint pp5s as well if you have them at your disposal vs. The jelly jars etc. (Threw all mine away. I'll have to give it a try and see the results
Edit:
Looks like i can put these old whatmans to work...never would have thought
