Things like not letting the air settle in the SAB or reaching over the jar with your hands.

My question would be using this tek to select a contam free sample. once it is noted that the sample is clean could one just squirt a few cc's on the agar, wait a couple days then withdraw it and then use this liquid to seed a jar of prepared and sterilized grain water jar of say a half pint?
I was thinking that might be better as it would take multiple injections to fill up the jar, and i think i would be more comfortable injecting once instead of opening it up and pouring.
would this work?
thanks.

I tried this out and it seems to have worked wonderfully.
I was pretty loose with it, as usual for me. I did 2 grams agar, 3 grams malt to 100 ml of water. Didn't use it all, but I made about a 3/4" puck in a tall 1/2 pint regular mouth jar with a Whatman filter. Inoculated with an average speed AA+ MS culture.
When it colonized about halfway I just dumped in some sterile water like a G2G. Not sure how much, about an inch from the top.
It's been 9 days and it's definitely the thickest LC I've ever seen. I shake it like a baby I hate every day that I remember. The liquid is crystal clear when I let the myc settle. I haven't tested it yet but it looks amazing. I'll be doing 10 jars with it tomorrow.
Great job, Pasty. This is probably how I'll do LC from now on.

I hit 10 jars today. We'll see how they do.
I had a thought after I trashed everything though - could you maybe reuse the puck? Mine was awfully thick and I feel like it could have given up a little more. I ended up with about 110 ml of liquid. I got dirty with the last bit and popped the lid off and just sucked it up in the syringe. That syringe wasn't the one I used.

So this had a small satalyte (9 o'clock) but it grew as exactly the same mycellium as the central mother. Adding water in the next few days.

Can you tell me why you do not like to inoculate through polyfil? I am new, and that was my plan for simplicity and hopefully a successful first try

If your Poly is tight enough to be effective it'll bend your needle.
IDK if anyone has tried, but I'm gonna try making a second LC from one of mine. It might have enough left in it. We'll see.
