Tea on the other hand is made for human consumption.
I agree, It must be labeled chemical and additive free.

Made from newspaper, and organic soy ink.

They must know the source of the paper well then.

The source is handle safe, organic ink newspaper. Collected mushed and pelleted. Nothing added, nothing taken away. 100% environmentally safe, non toxic.

Here is day 1 of the Golden oyster T-Tek test at 20°C, 80% water content.

Here is day 9, slowly thickening up, quite normal for Golden oyster.

No mold, no metabolites, no evasive growth.

Here is day 10 at 20°C, colonized but it is still maturing.

Should I fruit it or wait 4 more days?

Look what I found in the supermarket in OZ. The break down at the top looks identical to the one you get. Maybe the same company different name.

Also would it be best to wait for the mycelium to start to pin before fruiting?
That way if you do that with all your experiments it might keep your testing method more consistent.

Yes thats identical, as you can see no chemicals or additives and its 99% biodegradable.

Good point, however I am now casing and using a different fruiting method.

Here is Golden oyster on T-Tek at 20°C, 80% substrate water content. Now generally safe to take surface images.

Tiny bit of bio waste, no obvious mold. The red tint in the middle of image 3 is my camera.

Golden oyster: Left, my old WL tek. Right, the new starch free T-Tek.

Visibly BE has increased by a large factor.

How I assembled my mini natural fruiting tek.
> Fully colonized cake, block. > Pasteurized compost. > Plant pot or tub.
I flipped my cake onto a larger lid, and then flipped again onto kitchen towel.
I Added boiled hot water to my compost, mixed and then left to fully cool. When cooled, I added 40mm to the base of my fruiting plant pot.
I added the cake, kitchen towel included, gets eaten. Using a fork I stuffed the sides with compost.
I Added 20mm to the surface, and bagged.

You can also make a string cradle to lower the cake. Cotton or twine will be eaten, but not nylon.
Crossed under the kitchen towel.

If your species or strain requires 3rd party microorganisms to access nutrients to fruit.
Colonize a cake if possible, follow the above tek with the following changes:
Pasteurize the compost, cool, and inoculate with said culture. Leave for 'X' weeks for full activation and colonization.
You will need to read up on required conditions. Once ready use the compost as normal.

It's impossible to read the numbers in the inserted image. Is it possible to upload a higher resolution? BTW I just started reading your posts and am already a fan. Much kudos on your experiments.
