I'm not sure what ego loss is meant to be. I use psychedelics because it feels good and lets me see the magical side of things while clearing out some mind rubble . If you're talking about humility then humiliation can be a good catalyst. Honestly if you're worried about an inflated ego just go about your business and chances are life will beat it out of you eventually

lol. i like that
yeah me too. what the hell does it even mean?
I think there is two ways of understanding it. usually the guru way of people pretending they haven't got an ego whilst they go about with SUCH a big ego it is funny, but their devotees refuse to see it/are in denial
the meaning i think is the most authentic is belonging to the Goddess and her moon gods before it all got suppressed and went solar
It is that experience one can have inspired with psychedelics when nature possesses you and you realize a deeper connection, and that IF there is an ego resistant to this connection it is gonna destroy this connection and the very web of life. THAT is what I am seeing being done right now in the world by those who have lost relationship with nature and other species, and their whole purpose is so-called 'profit' which is destroying everything
so WE have to de-story this toxic cult myth they have incited and into which we're born into. See through it, feel ....psychedelics can VERY much help with this

The fourth state, Turiya.
It is extremely empowering.
You still feel fear in certain situations but you do not identify with the entity that is experiencing fear - the body.

The integration period following stronger doses are where the good things can come..... ego loss is uncomfortable ime but if you don't try to fight and only hold on for the ride it's less uncomfortable during the time, and afterwards can view the experience in hindsight and tackle any of those issues you felt did arise, or were highlighted, during the time of experiencing a so called ego loss. In short my personal goal is to witness those blockages and bad energy and bring them to the front, main goal being attempted understanding during integration time.

My first ego-death experience was awesome. Yes, awesome! I thought I'd died. (I find it is not uncommon to experience this before ego-death.) I was the universe that for a second (well, for an hour at that time, but from the viewpoint of the universe it doesn't feel much different) woke up and realized that in this body it had forgotten who he really was. It was worried about its death, but this carrier simply had been programmed by society to believe it would stop existing when this carrier ceased functioning. For the first time in 20+ years I was free beyond the by-then-conceivable boundaries it had put around this carrier. If that doesn't sound awesome I don't know what does.
-------------------- It doesn't matter whether you are christian, muslim, jew, atheist or ascribe to any other belief-system. It doesn't matter whether you look out to the stars, or under a microscope to the tiniest of particles. It doesn't even matter what kind of practice you perform to reach your goal. Because if you keep looking, everything eventually leads to the same truth, like a fractal that contains itself in every direction you take it. You will find yourself. I love you. Blatant self-advertisement.
