so i had ordered some spores from sponsor X and the syringes looked like pure water to me, I could not find even the faintest spec of black in there. I knocked up a dozen jars with them over three weeks ago and nothing has grown, no mold or mycelium. So my question to you people is have you ever attempted to re-inoculate a jar? i will definitely be using another syringe as i believe the one i got was bunk. please let me know what you think.... and before you say it yes i know i have increased chances of contams. I want to know if anyone has done this with successful results

I have I got a bunk syringe once but I guess it was sterile the wbs never contamed nor colonized I used another viable syringe 3 of the 12 contamed I'm not sure if it was due to the earlier innoc either way if you've access to fresh grain I'd start over(I waited 5 days between inocs )maybe it was a fluke either way I don't advise it but it sounds like your going to try anyways good luck and keep us posted

The age of the grain is my only concern. You'd think something would be growing in there after 3 weeks, even if you can't see it yet.
Maybe re-sterilize if its worth the time to you, starting over is just as easy.

I've done this and it's worked. Just be sure your grains are actually still clean. If they look wet or oily, you could be 100% mold free because the mold can't compete with the bacteria.

I done it after one week after original knock up. I just mis label the jars but all of them made it. If you really want dome fun recook them for two more hours so that there black tary grains. Then knock up those burn babys with 10ml of clean lc and wacth the white over take the burns colors.

What is wrong with that advice. Recooking and messing with water content is better then knocking up unclean jars.

Just dump the jars outside and make up some new ones. If you have the materials its worth the small time investment for a better chance at success.

Just use fresh rye and start over. Do you not have more rye sitting in a bag?
