What's the advantage of using malt extract and agar as opposed to using a syringe? If i clone a specimen, is there an advantage to grow the clone on agar and extract instead of sending it a spore syringe?

With the agar you can isolate one growth. If you pick the best growth all your mycellium will exhibit healthier growth then with just using a spore syringe. And the fruits should pin and grow more even.

Well, its a good way to save your favourite strain,
unlike a spore syringe you can store it over a long period
and use it throughout that period. Were as spores need
to be recollected every grow. And flushes are more variable.
From a clone you seem to get better, more even flushes,
plus you know you have a fruiting mycelium (though a
blind multispore is pretty rare anyway actually)
but what is more, is the fact you get to play mad scientist
