Habitat:
Multiple clusters growing on an old rotting birch stump.

Gills:
Grey, attached.

Stem:
Length, 3cm

Cap:
Diameter, 6cm

Spore print color:
Taking a spore print now, but a lot of the mushrooms had what look like very dark purple/black spores on the capes from the mushrooms growing above them in the clusters.

Bruising:
Just seems to darken from where the stem was broken. However, it does look like the gills are bruising black/dark purple from where bugs have been nibbling on them.

Thanks, seems like a pretty good guess from what I've read and the pictures.

Seems like a great guess from what I read and the pictures I've seen. However, spore print is white. I guess I was wrong about the dark purple/black stuff on their caps being spores. It's not bruising or decay, it washes right off.

Have you tried printing on tin foil? How long did you leave it for?

Sorry if I sound patronising. It's not intentional.

Yeah, the paper towel in the picture was already on my desk, not for the spore print. And around an hour. :smirk:
