Shroom Caps???

Recently my friend gave me 5 shroom caps that he said he got from his friend. These are weird though. They are hard and abotu the size of a quater. They show no gills. They smell like dog food and are dark brown. Although the do resemble shroom caps, I've never seen anything like them before. Any advice? Thanks

nothing we can do to help really. it's like saying i got some green stuff and it looks like pot and smells like an herb but i've never seen anything like it, is it pot?

the only thing that's weird is it shows no gills, shrooms can shrivel up when dried but you should still be able to see gills that are black or maybe grey depending when picked.

My advice would be not to eat them untill your sure because at this point it doesnt sound that great. Keep looking into it.

Ok I talked to my friend and said they are part of a cap. He said they are "diluted" soo that they contain the same amount of physcadelic conetent but they are smaller and denser so you don't have to eat a lot of nasty mushroom. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I dunno, perhaps your friend gave you a bag of aborts? These are the mushrooms before the cap opensand would account for the lack of gills. I'd still get a pic up for us to look at before consuming any.
