looking for local info of Virgina- not a hunting party request

Hey all, I want to first state I am not looking for a person to join up with to go hunt shrooms. I fully appreciate the risk this entails and respect everyone's privacy. That being said on to my question:
I live in Virginia in the Piedmont region. I hhave done all the research my brain can handle and been looking in, what I understand to be, the right places. I have found A TON of different shrooms and have been having a lot of fun enjoying my time as a beginning hobbyist Hunter. I would like to be able to get some feedback or advice from some who is familiar with my region or neck of the woods that can give me some practical hunting advice. I am interested in all types of edibles, not just psychoactive shrooms, but I would enjoy finding some psychoactive as well.
I am a quick study and eager to learn more. Again I respect that hunting partners come with a lot of risk bit I am not asking for a partner more so looking for just a mentor to a beginner with local region information. The dog's, dont, what to look out for and where to look out for (not specific places like "blah-blah park, but what type of trees, grass and landscape instead) from, as I have said, a person with familiarity to Virginia and even better would be familiar to the piedmont region of Virginia.
Thanks and happy shrooming!

As far as actives your best bet is to familiarize yourself with P. ovoideocystidiata. You can read all about it here 2016 Ovoid Thread

Thanks balance. I have been reading and trying to memorize the info for Ovoids and Bluefoots since they both seem to be in season and found in my area. I have a 20 acre woodlibe in my back yard of mixed density woods including birch, maple, oak, pine and some other red woods. The ground is a plethora of felled wood, mixed leaves, soft soils, moss, a and grass. There are about 3 decent sized and steady flowing creeks that open into a grazing pasture on one side and a corn field on another.
There is a lot of great terrain I just eel like I'm looking in all the wrong areas. On a side note I have found a lot of chaga and turkey tail.

Yes, what you should do is read the current and past Ovoid threads, while paying very close attention to all talk and imagery related to the habitat in which the mushrooms were found. I don't mean people necessarily discussing it...rather you have to deduce the facts yourself. At the same time, you go out and test your observations and deductions in practice. And then just keep going until you succeed. Also, you may need to expand your search beyond your own property. Good luck!

That makes it a little more clear. I was skimming the Ovoids thread looking more for info in my area. Laws in Virginia are very strict. Even if I don't find any psychoactive shrooms I am learning a lot about "how" to hunt which on my property is safe. Not comfortable yet hunting in public. Get nabbed here and it's a schedule 1, class 5 felony even if you feign ignorance.

Law enforcement in this area is clueless about wild psychoactive mushrooms. Most people don't know they can grow here.

Just went up to Shenandoah Valley yesterday and 2 hikers got arrested for picking magic mushrooms. I thought it would be the perfect climate to find them but after seeing that got spooked so we just went hiking instead.
