The cap has broken away from the veil on most and the stipe on all the others they just seem so small the ones on other cakes look like they will be much larger. What could have caused this and as the title says should I harvest these?

They look fantastic to me. Nice shit! Cakes won't get massive fruits like bulk does. Yes harvest them now.

Sweet thanks man, I'll be sure to take some prints of the larger ones that are coming in and then I plan to go to a bulk substrate.

I'm honestly having a bit of a hard time choosing which tek would be right for me. So any suggestions would be welcomed. It can be a little overwhelming at times with all this info to choose from

You should try a simple coir/vermiculite/gypsum substrate spawned to eather rye berries or WBS (i use wild bird seed). Heres a very good list you can trust (franks get shit done list). I have no idea how to post links so go search that haha

Thanks, was looking into that and Damian's 50/50 tek mostly so now I know which of the two to choose. What's the benefit of wbs over the berries or vis versa?

Damion5050's tek. it's not a 50/50 ratio.... its closer to 80/20
WBS is a smaller grain with many more grain spread points. Think (an exaggerated example) 1000 pebbles vs 100 rocks in different but same size containers.

*Damion5050's That username has caused some confusion, the mix is not 50/50, his name ends with 5050 -edit

But the berries or mono grains like oats hold a little more water and prep is easier to get right. So less wet spots. Wbs can be found every where and cost more while mono grains like oats, corns, milo cost less but are harder to fine in city so good fined a feed store for those.

I only gave an example of one benefit of wbs over rye berries.... everyone loves rye berries. The prep is easy
If you are going to go with wbs, stay away from any with cracked corn. The prep is different and the cracked corn will turn your wbs to starchy mush.

Thank you everyone for all your help think I'm going to go with the rye berries for now just to get a good practice going. So for my bulk I'll be inoculating 1qt rye jars. Then spawning/casing with a cvg mixture into monotubs. I know I read somewhere not to use ms inoculation with rye berries so I was thinking lc as I don't know if I'm quite ready for the agar jump yet does this sound about right?

No, injecting dirty spores into a nutritious low oxygen liquid that bacteria would love to munch on and you can't tell if it's clean or not by looking at it is a terrible idea. People always seem to get it backwards, when done correctly LC is one of the most advanced techniques in mycology. LC should be inoculated with a clean agar wedge, colonized then tested on agar.
Agar is easy as making jello, https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19208976/fpart/1/vc/1 you are putting spores on a 2d surface where you can see and transfer away from contams. Instead of being intimidated by agar, someone should be scared not to use it. If you totally screw up with agar you are out like 5 cents per plate and a single drop of spore solution, beats wasting a whole syringe, grains, bulk substrate and all your time.
How to get a clean culture on agar Don't worry about trying to isolate a monoculture, just transfer a couple times to get a clean culture.

NDStepp84 thank you If that's the case I'll get some clean prints this week and start gathering my agar supplies. And also might try a tissue culture or 10 while I'm at it. And thank you for the links, actually was reading that the other day but couldn't find it again. Haha. Got 5 more cakes being birthed now and was going to enjoy the fruits of my labor for the first time this evening. What would you guys say is a good dose of g.t.?
