first trip in a decade.. unexpected side effect
    #23736037 - 10/14/16 04:11 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

ill keep this short...
tiny bit of background.

i am no stranger to substances. about 10 years ago i was
introduced to lsd mushrooms and smoking dmt:thumbup: and
my journey led me to shroomery where i learned to grow my
own and rocked that for a bit. my bro in law and I got
some made some vine. i also did shrooms with the aya. mind blowing yet gentle:thumbup:
and i love weed.

any who after that life happened. married. jobs. cats. moved blahblah. no kids.

then the drinking started. i was always a hard partier and could go
from dead trashed to cognitive darn quick if i needed too. super man drunk.

flash forward to present where since feb ive been drinking TONS. sometimes doing
1.75l in 2days without trying. i started to feel shitty recently so i cut
back a but but still way to much. but i was back into growing and did a solid 1/8th
from my new grow. the trip was good. but i was thinking about booze the whole time
which really turned me off.. 3 days ago after drinking a ton i woke up pouring
sweat heart beat all over the place and got in the shower where i puked. a lot.
i heard a voice in my head, just like when i trip and i need to reassure myself
about science(my face isnt melting off kinda stuff) and the voice said louder
than i thought a inner monologue could be say.....
'WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU KNOCK THIS BOOZE SHIT OFF"!!! i had a mild panic attack. didnt call 911  didnt sleep for
36 hours later.

now im on day 3 and going through one hell of a time with booze withdrawal
(im posting to much i know but im losing my shit). I really do think mushrooms
had a direct result in this. now i cant even sip booze to curb withdrawal.

thanks for reading my shit. not meant to be a trip report i just need to rant.

Nice...

Listen to that voice in your head. You will get through the pain and be able to look back on it and feel pride that you took care of yourself.

You may want to take a valium to help with the withdrawals....you drank a lot and could be prone to grand mal seizure which can kill you. Third day is the worst day for that. Alcohol withdrawals are the most dangerous of all chemicals. Good luck.:sunny::peace:

hard withdrawals shouldn't last more than 3 days or so.  when you do feel better, you will feel a lot better.  so good in fact that having a few drinks to celebrate will sound like an excellent idea.  alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful.  consider AA or some other support mechanism.  it's very difficult to quit and stay quit all by yourself.

i'm an alkie, but it's been over 30 years since my last drink.

best of luck to you.

cold turkey off alcohol is not a good idea, as was mentioned above

Had some bad waves of withdrawal. I seem fine until 7-8p then
I feel like I'm going to freak out and I get sweets slight shakes
and a horribly vivid sense of doom and fear. Not cool.

I'm trying not to cold turkey it but tonite I had a beer with
soup and the onset of withdrawal was like dmt intense.

Could you please be more specific on your drinking habits?

You mentionned doing 1.75L in two days, which to me seems to be roughly 2.5 small beers a day.

Is that your average alcohol consumption per day?  Since how long?

Mostly no hard alcohol (bad translation i guess, read vodka, gin, whiskey, etc...) ??

I know 2-3 beers a day is above recommended etc but it seems low to get all those withrawal sideeffects.  That's why i'd like you to confirm dosage.

Glad to hear, way to go  Might I gently suggest making sure the rest of your life is in a healthy trajectory. I have found drugs alone don't help me with bad life habits in the long run unless I keep up my hobbies/profession/working out/eating healthy etc.

Thanks guys.

And I ment 1.75L of Canadian club. 52ish shots.
Not 3 beers. That's silly

Ive been a drinker of degrees for 10 years.
Last 6 years has been moderate. Last 2 years has been insane
Last few months has been 750ish ml a day of whiskey.

Check out healthrecovery.com . They use medical nutrition to overcome addiction. One thing they say is effective is glutamine. They say that any time they feel cravings, that glutamine relieves it. They have protocols online and books, as well as in patient rehab. They use intravenous vitamin C along with other things. There's probably a holistic dr. you could go to to get i.v. C. You could also take oral vit. C.

This is an article that shows how to find the right dose of oral vit C. http://vitamincfoundation.org/www.orthomed.com/titrate.htm

You need to change your biochemical situation or you'll have a good chance of falling back into addiction. 75% of the people who go through the health recovery center treatment end up staying addiction free. 25% of AA people "make it" but with other addictions like cigarettes or caffeine and are nervous wrecks.

Inositol is good for overcoming anxiety and panic as well as helping to sleep. Staying away from refined carbs and sugar is a good idea. Lacto/ovo vegetarian is the best kind of diet.

Alcohol is metabolized like sugar. It can damage the pancreas as well as the liver and, of course, can cause heart disease/clogged arteries/diabetes.

You need to change for the long term, to a diet program that will reverse the damage.

I've seen heavy duty heroin/methadone addicts go through withdrawal like it was nothing using these methods.

Yeah sorry for being silly. I though booze meant beer. french frog here.

That's a lot my friend and trully feel your pain when its time to withdraw from it.  You should realize by now that you probably need help with that for mental support. At this level its basically quitting for good.  Just reducing won't do the trick.

I like the read with healthrecovery.  Going to AA, im pretty sure will be nice to meet all kind of people that were able to do it.

just in case anyone needs the info(first place i went too when i was freaking out was shroomery)

im doing a lot better! it was a hellish nightmare. way worse then
a bad acid trip. by like a billion. i am really pissed i let myself
get that bad. I came really close to calling 911 about twice. if i
was insured i would have.

I smoked tons of weed. drank a big ass jug gatorade when it got bad
and it helped. I also firmly believe my experience with tripping helped
me out big time. i have no doubt i experienced mild DTs.
i was able to ignore any kind of visual and just focused on my breathing
when it got bad. it came in waves. i was even begging my wife for help
but not too much she could do except say 'it will pass, hang in there'

drinking is fine. in fact i would encourage it within reason but
do NOT go down that road of thinking your a rockstar and you can
chug whiskey all day and use people who barely escaped death
as role models.

overall it was the worse experience in my life.

back to growing shrooms. ill be in the cult forums. thanks everyone who gave
input. helped a lot.

That's the great thing about a trip man.. Normal human ego that tricks you into ignoring shit is stripped away and forces you to take an honest and square look at the situation.. There's power in them there caps..
