Help! Ready to use grain spawn

I have a single mono that is waiting on its second flush. I'm hoping it's not yet done.
I also have grain qt's that were prepped a few weeks ago, that colonized faster then I thought they would.
I've read that once they are 100% it's not good to let them sit longer then five days.
I have one other sterilte tub I could use, but I've used it to work on my house in the past and it has some paint and shit on it? Think it's all right if I use it in a pinch? The paint is all on the outside. The inside is clean.
Suggestions?

You can also put the spawn in the fridge until you're ready to use it.

You can grow in just about any plastic container. There's no dogma that says you have to use tubs of a certain size - we just do it because that's what is convenient. Don't over think this part too much.
Here's a 2 liter bottle grow I did.

Looks like you just spawned it to that and fruited open air?
Nice man.

I had the top (neck) part of the bottle cut off but still resting on top of the body of the bottle during fruiting, to keep moisture in. I'd lift off the neck piece to mist and fan and then replace it when finished.
