Hello Shroomery,
I have before had the pleasure of growing the three sclerotia: Mexicana, Tampanensis, and Galindoi.
Here is my log that I'm going to keep for the woodlovers!
1) I started around March I think, could have been February.
2) I had grown the mycelium for both Azurescens and Cyanescens on rye grain.
3) I then took this grain straight to JARS with lots of woodchips of apple or alder. Some jars were pickle jars, fairly large, and I also used a 1 gallon jar for the Cyanescens if I remember correctly.
4) I kept the patch healthy and added a good deal of woodchips to it over time. I also built a box of cedar, filled it with birch chunks and woodchips, this is a Cyanescens box AND it is the first picture of this post. Those little one are Cyanescens and they are SLEEPING! ^.^
5) How lovely. This is in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, South of Portland by about 20 miles. These are the first mushrooms I saw starting and there are no Azurescens yet, the temperatures are not low enough. HOWEVER! There is a storm and more rain coming. I hope the mushrooms will be safe and that everything will go great.
P.S. there are also some others growing on the open air parts of the birch log you will see below. This page will be updated periodically with the mushroom growth throughout the season.

Blessed be,
silverrain

It’s now 2017! Hope everyone’s Fall is going well.
Haven’t seen any azurescens in the patch yet and as mentioned above it make take even more than two years.
Here are what I believe to be Cyans growing currently. Will need to check though.

This one was falling over so I harvested it. Rest are still left.
That’s a jar with drierite in the bottom and polyfil then the Cyan.
I don’t have time to take so it’s drying. The drierite+polyfil is super cheap if you only have a small amount of to dry. If you have a lot you probably already know you need better ways to dry.
Cheers!
