Thanks. Looks like you're probably correct about the honey mushrooms and i don't think the "not gyms" are gym, but, note the gills growing down onto the stem. I don't see that on the mycena. What about the wavy caps?

Look for caramel colored caps, white stems, and blue bruising for wavy caps

I think you should do more research, learn everything you can about the gyms that grow in your region. And wavy caps? C'mon, at least name what species you mean by that, and if you looked into what species are called wavy caps, you'd see that the mushrooms you found are quite different in terms of macro features.

I have been doing research, but, as I already stated, this is new to me. As in, I've been hunting a few times in the last few days and that's it. After so much googling, reading and studying pictures I am still not confident, which is why I chose to post some pics and seek education from the community here. I was under the impression that this is what the forum is for. I want to learn about this stuff, not just to be told "that's not it" or ridiculed for wrong guesses.
As for the "wavy caps", I now think they look more likely to be Pan. Cinct., if anything active, but I'm still not sure at all. I'm posting here for help because I don't know.

Well then, welcome to the wonderful world of amateur mycology, where everyone is correct and wont mind telling you so. Fucking scientists eh!
I am joking, and the shroomery is mostly light hearted crazy people who love mushrooms, so you'll fit right in, I don't know if you're crazy yet, but you seem like you want to learn about mushrooms, so that's cool, give it time, you'll be crazy enough, crazy about mushrooms that is.
I have been hunting mushrooms for almost 20 years, since I was a teenager, and I am still learning a great deal about them, plus the genera are constantly being studied, and changes are being made, so it's an ongoing process, which I love.
I would recommend websites like this one to read up on fungi, it's fairly accurate, and has good descriptions. But the shroomery trusted identifiers know their stuff, and many are more than willing to help you learn.
As long as you're open to learning from your mistakes, meaning if someone says why your ID is wrong, then you'll be fine. We can only learn by setting out pride aside, admitting when we're wrong, and learning from those with more experience in the field. You see some newer members get butthurt because they were told the ID they came up with was wrong, you can't learn with that mindset as I am sure you know.
Anyway, welcome aboard!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I hope my last post was not mistaken for "butthurt over misidentification". Actually, quite the opposite. I want people to tell me what is, what isn't and why. I am also interested in learning more than just "Actives", I want to know all I can. It's been very difficult for me trying to match up my findings with information found on the net. Today I will be taking some pics of various finds to post later and will hopefully learn something. Pretty sure I found a giant area full of "honey mushrooms" which may not be so interesting to the regulars here but exciting for me. Yes, I am going mushroom crazy. It's a fun and interesting hobby. I also happen to enjoy "expanding my horizons".
