BRF jar Check
    #23726867 - 10/10/16 10:09 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Inoculated 6 jars with PE & this was the only jar to fully colonize with no visible contams but it's starting to look a little strange. Today marks a week after 100% coloniazation.

I am currently on mobile and can't really see anything too terrible at this point in your jar.

If it's been a week after full colonization and you have your SGFC ready - go ahead and birth it.

Roll it in FINE vermiculite - and set it in your fruiting chamber on top of a jar lid or some aluminum foil (not too much foil-just enough to set the cake on).

No misting for around 30 mins to an hour.

After the vermiculite has had a chance to adhere to the cake, give the cake a good misting until the vermiculite looks damp. NOT WET AS FUCK!

After that...give it a misting when the vermiculite looks dry, but only until it looks slightly damp, and than fan the chamber with a few short waves of the lid. You are not fanning the chamber to give Fresh Air - you are simply ridding the chamber of the current air that resides in it. Getting rid of the old humid air and allowing even more water to evaporate from the cakes REPLACING the humidity you once had - is an awesome pinning trigger. Let that evaporate and then do it again. If your SGFC is built to spec. you should be able to do this 3-4 times a day-maybe less-maybe more...no exact science here.

Give it light-give it love-and you will see fruits.

Hope this helps.

I will look at the picture again once I arrive home - I'm sure someone else will sweep in soon and give you additional guidance and possibly let you know if something is off on your cake. But from what I can see, nothing is completely out of the norm.
