Tons of these
    #23724745 - 10/10/16 10:34 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

I spread some chipper chips I got from an arborist last spring. Just the last couple days all these poped up. First the brownish ones with whit gills then all the off white with brown gills. They may be all the same but different stages.

Gills:
white at first then brown?

Stem:
about 2" some with small bulb. Cants really tell if hollow...I'm not experienced enough.

Cap:
3/4 closed...1 1/4 open

Spore print color:
Brown in the late stage...I didn't check earlier :frown:

Bruising:
can't get any color when bruising

Other information:
smells earthy...alot like magic ones I've smelled...thank you

Thanks Joie. Many types of these and some say edible and some not. What do you think?

If you're in Oregon and want edibles your time would be better spent looking for chanterelles, porchini, and oysters right now.

Thanks, I do find 2 of those when I look. These are in my yard 1000s in a group. I don't need to hunt them. Just trying to find out more about these before dry them and eat em. They looked trippy to me but apparently not. That's how much i know.
Any help on variety of Psathyrella these might be I would appretiate.

There is no reason to eat any of those.

I'd possibly want to ID it further if I was local and had local field guides, and there's nothing wrong with just study, but in this case I think the main thing you want to know is it is a genus of mainly flimsy stuff you couldn't cook with if you tried.

Thanks again, Yeah they're pretty soft and not very durable. I guess they just look cool and that serves a purpose. Thanks all
