Italian Semilanceata ID
    #23724390 - 10/10/16 07:54 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:Pasture, deschampsia, northern Italy, 1400 meters above sea level
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Gills: Brown purplish, not attached to the stem
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Stem: white brownish stem with evident bruising, solid stem
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

Cap: Typical semilanceata cap
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Spore print color:
Very important!

Bruising: Blue/green
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information: Almost 100% sure those are psilocybe semilanceata, just the big one is dubious to me. Just need a confirmation I'm 100% good to go
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Sorry for the shitty pics, that's all my phone can do

Thanks! :mushroom2: Yeah it is quite huge, that's why i wasn't 100% sure about this one, even though it had the looks of a semilanceata.

That is a fantastic collection! Thank you for bringing them to us. That big lib is gonna grow up and play hand-egg one day haha. I like the contrast and the way the shadows play off the white. I don't normally save others pictures but these are gorgeous. Good job man.

Haha no problem man. A good day's picking always deserves a pat on the back. Don't worry because soon you won't have enough room on your counters or table and you've got two dehydrators going haha.

And yes please do get some habitat shots. One growing that big is impressive I think that area has a lot more to offer. Try walking towards a natural water source; like where the grass stays greener and taller. They're more fertile and wet areas.

Unfortunately i got no habitat shots, i hope i'm gonna get to my spot next week, by the way it hadn't rained for a while, there were not so many mushrooms, many of them growing solitary and i found just one cluster of 10/12 semilanceata. The habitat as i already said is a cow pasture in northern italy, 1400 meters above sea level with lots of deschampsia. Weird thing is that the previous year this spot was almost empty, while a higher field was full of them; this year i got the total opposite, as the spot where i found them last year was completely empty.

Ah I see my eyes are tired and I miss things sometimes. Well, lovely that they've started growing there. Easy rule to follow is water flows downhill and so do spores. It sounds like this area is gearing up for a good year. Don't give up on the other spot either. Sometimes patches just take breaks over time from what people have said here. Or they have an irregular fruiting season or pattern. Not sure if libs are the same. But anyway I've got some medicine to smoke so I can eat and sleep. Fantastic mushrooms please bring us more pictures!

Edit- So you're finding them in grass like this?

Not really, just mountain fields around 1400/2000 meters with lots of tussocks. Here is an old shitty youtube video i found, the spot where i found them was quite similar to the one depicted there.
