Hey guys
Alice and the Cheshire Cat had some golden teachers growing, but the cake got contaminated... they went out to get some horse poo and dried it on the sun. Then this was mixed with breaked up cake and straw, put on top of soil in a big shallow pot and watered every 2-3 days until there was mycelium everywhere. Weather got colder in the meantime, so this was moved indoors under light. A few days ago, pin formation was visible, first image is 2 days ago, second is today. Nothing was sterilised or pasteurised, and they had some slugs to get rid of. They never had that size of shrooms growing before...

The substrate choice has nothing to do with size. Genetics and water supply and fresh air.
You can grow on coconut husk and often get better results because it supplies water better. Regardless it's genetics and conditions not the substrate

No idea but Alice hopes for at least 2 or 3 more... originally this was a Supa Gro golden teacher grow kit that got contaminated at second flush, some 350g fresh both flushes combined. Alice made spore syringes first flush around and will be learning to diy all the way in the near future. She is quite new at all this
