Yeah but if you ever want to pursue something serious in uni now youre gonna have to go back and finish it up. Which is expensive and really time consuming.

sounds like a bunch of bullshit. i'm all for getting rid of high school entirely...i have my reasons. the pedagogical method is lacklustre, and is overtaken by a bureaucratic curriculum that teaches kids only the dumbest most bare-minimum rote applications of things, until they are about finished high-school. but then again, to sort everything out is it's own challenge, and i can fathom that. but to me, it's not merely just personal...i never had any qualms with quitting school. i just think education could be made a bigger priority in kids lives in a better way. *sigh* i'm a dreamer.
in Finland they got it pretty tight, though.

yeah...i know. i also have my regrets. but i try not to let them get me down. i don't have to go to university. i'll find a way to manage. credentials don't mean much to me. seems like a sham.
like i said many many years ago, as a kid in school, and it sounded smart then! i could be a brilliant-ass mathematician or physicist, and have proofs that blow up the field into new heights; found solutions to problems no one had expected to find; if those proofs rocked the established order of scientific epistemology, your ass would still be seen as useless.

people need to sort their shit out. reasoned debate not this bullshit cultist crap. That's imo the main problem with third wave feminism, the abandonment of logical discourse in favor of essentially a belief system
pain in the ass but we'll get through this shit

School was largely Bullshit but I am glad to have gotten through it nonetheless.
High school was mostly complete borderline abusive horseshit until I got into an excellent private school that I loved and benefited gem enormously for grades 10-12.
University was an almost totally positive experience for me and in many ways was absolutely wonderful.
It opened so many doors, I learned so much, enjoyed so much and benefited so much.
It was also highly profitable for me financially and I take great pride in the credentials I achieved.
But for many the debt they end up in getting a bachelor's degree isn't worth it.
I would have the same job without my education but I still valued the experience of my university life highly.
It's not for everyone by any means though.

It took me like 11 or 12 years to get an AA degree. I'm not really cut out for the classroom

never had any choice with highschool it is what it is, and that is largely boring unfortunately I really think individualized learning would be far preferable I always felt held back by my peers being mostly well meaning but rather slow

not even that I'm a genius or anything but imo schooling is absolutely vital it's just they don't push students enough or demand enough of them, and certain key topics are rarely touched on. Like logic. How the hell is logic not directly taught right from the start, it's so essential and not even difficult to teach, you can literally teach basic logic to 6 year olds

it's annoying too cus they re-iterate the same shit so much too, I'm one of those people who doesn't re-read things and once I learn something I remember it, so for me the reinforcing of a lot of things seemed like wasted time I could have been learning new things. also the amount of misinformation and propaganda, however well meaning, spread by careless teachers pissed me off
I remember when I was ten I corrected my teacher when discussing local first nations groups she said they had been 'peaceful tribal groups prior to colonization'. Unfortunately for her I'd grown up wanting to be a coast saalish native for some reason, and I pointed out that many groups raided and took slaves, I mean they literally had a weapon called a 'slave killer'. Yup, pretty damn peaceful eh
god that stuff always pissed me off, not that I have a problem with pointing out the barbarism of western culture in history, but I could never stand for white-washing non western cultures or blatantly ignoring historical facts to fit a contemporary progressive narrative I still otherwise believe in. Imo that stuff undercuts the message fatally for anyone with any intellect

i don't even recall ever having a single history class....
but i do recall my 1-2nd grade teacher making a math error and me correcting her, and like finding errors in the teaching of certain geometry...also geography...too bad i don't recall any history, cause i pwned that shit. cartography and draughting was always my forte, as well.
and yet, even though i was apparently not a complete idiot at math back then, as of right now, i am a complete idiot at math. calculators spoil me, and i can't play number cruncher anymore, i'm too slow.

I was taught many absolute lies in school.
I was sent to two crazy religious schools where I learned that witches make candles from human fat and other religious propaganda, and in my secular high school I was taught that one joint is more harmful than a whole package of cigarettes.
I learned early on to never take authority at its word and always question everything and do your own research.
Those lessons served me well later in life for example when my doctor told me antidepressants and benzos were not addictive.

i picked up this book "the Mathematical Experience" (LOLOLOL) so i could remember all those fancy names and stuff, like order of operations (LOLOLOL)...literally, it's like all math just slipped out of my head. as they say, you don't use it, you lose it.

I had a science teacher who I fought with several times because he said dogs can only eat meat and foods made from meats. They can't eat vegetables he said. That was in high school.

I wish I had realized how awesome academics is earlier I would have focused a lot more on learning science and math and also I wish I had realized how awesome Athletics are earlier and done way more sports.
In retrospect I could have gotten so much more from school but I didn't have the perspective then that I do now.
