Trying to quit meth
    #23718952 - 10/08/16 10:19 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Ok so i''ve decided. I've been a meth user for almost a year.. About a week or two ago I decided that i want to take the plunge and kick the habit.. I managed to stay clean for almost a week.. But after day 2-3 horrible symptoms started tp kick in.. vertigo, nausea, headaches, confusion, lightheadedness, brain "zaps", horrible horrible dreams and a bunch of other withdrawal symptoms. They where so intense that i used again.. And i can honestly say i only used so that the withdrawal symptoms would go away..

Does anyone have any advice for me? I really want to quit but i never knew i would be experiencing this.. Is there any meds i can take to help? Should i try to wean off?

Please help

Well honestly what you need is a support system, does anyone else know about your addiction? Withdrawls will happen, that part is inevitable. I hate meth, I have never personally done it, it some nasty shit. I have turned it down many times. My ex-girlfriend however is an addict with bipolar disorder as well and I have been there for her to try to help her quit, despite my greatest efforts she continues to use. (her meth problem is the reason why I left her). We were together for 3 years. I hope by helping you I can feel better so if you need to talk to someone I am here for you to talk to you can even PM me if you like. The best thing to do would to be not to associate yourself with other users, even if they are your friends. And spend some time with someone you know who cares about you and you care about them, and get through the withdrawls together. They will never fully go away. Meth is the most addictive drug known to mankind. Once an addict always an addict, and you will struggle with it for years to come. The first week will be the hardest part but you can get through this.

No problem, and im not sure about the medication to try to help. Drugs are drugs and thats what medications are, our governments version of peddling stuff. But did you notice what forum you are on? This is shroomery. I, myself have actually used mushrooms to break myself of my psychological addiction to cigarettes, and alcohol. And also being on probation, being I cannot smoke pot anymore, I am not saying pot is addictive by any means, I am a huge advocate but mushrooms helped me break free from my dependency on it. Makes you take a look at your life and put things into perspective and can even stop your withdrawl symptoms all together. BTW I notice it says I am anonymous on here too, my handle is 420Leprechuan

If I were in ur shoes I'd buy as much weed as I could and smoke myself stupid until the meth withdrawals subside. You'll probably have to deal with marijuana withdrawals after but they'll be a hundred times more bearable than meth withdrawals..

Believe it or not.. I become so zombified that i don't even want to smoke weed.. Yeah it helps but even that becomes a mission.. I have access to a wide range of botanicals.. Omg how fucking dumb must i be to have gotten into meth, even though there are constant warnings on media.. I always thought H is the dangerous one.. But the withdrawal of meth is Really really bad. I'm in hell..

How about tapering??
Please help
Anyone?

I can't find any solid info online.. I

just gotta cold turkey it my friend..

yea it's gonna be hell, but u gotta think ahead, it is perfectly normal to feel the way u do after a meth binge, and it's gonna take some time to heal, might as well start now..

godspeed :manofapproval:

No.
Stop trying to find a shortcut out of this.  You got yourself into this situation with repeated use and it is going to take strong willpower to fix yourself back to normal.
I recommend quitting cold turkey and not using other drugs, except maybe weed, to help you get through withdraws.  This method will remind yourself that you are strong.
After you get past a few weeks you will realize that you are not being controlled by drugs and you will feel like you conquered something.
You can do it.
It's much easier to quit after only one year than two years.  Trust me.  You will love yourself if you quit now for good.

As others have said, you need to seriously stop hanging out with people who use meth or talk about it.

You know. Something really odd.

TBH, I'm an alcoholic. Or maybe I just love to drink every evening. Anyway,I drink every night and smoke weed. Except when I'm on meth.

Now, I don't think this is a good tradeoff. But I just feel so much nicer to my wife, better outlook in my head, and zero desire to get stoned or consume alcohol.

Then a day or two after comedown, I cry and am real depressed, but still...

Your feelings and outlooks can effect which realm you enter in the dmt world.  Ive blasted off into a bad place there, beware the bad places.  Mine was a damp cold grey hospital style room with the peple there, but they werent made of light that time, and they werent trying to tell or show me anything, just projecting bad feelings and threats.
