Agar dish question
    #23721321 - 10/09/16 06:31 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

This is peu first transfer. Out of 6 plates I inoculated from syringe only one germinated, the other 5 are still blank been two months, but that's not really relevant to my question. Why has both my peu transfers done this, what does it mean

Its only really noticeable on the PEU dishes my APE dishes are just regular growth.

Same, all my growth on PDA wasn't spectacular tree rings. They were all WAY too nutritious and the myc was fluffy tomentose puff balls.

I'm sure the ape is gonna take its time growing on those clumps, Like foraging for nuts and berries and then you come across a four course meal lol

I think your plate is fine, but obviously you need to take transfers incase something is hiding. I had a peu recently that was hiding penicillium.

I would love to get to that point someday. As for right now, we have a friend who has cancer coming to stay with us while she goes through chemo. So my hobby space will be occupied for an undetermined amount of time. Kinda puts everything on the back burner for a while.

How's the cleanup coming Azur?

Hey mazda, what's the nute % on those plates?  You might back it down to promote a thicker, more rhizo growth pattern and also try some different recipes to see how it responds to different food sources...I swap around MEA, DFA and oatmeal yeast...as with your ape and peu, I've noticed some of my edibles will thrive on a medium while others look like shit...so could just be it doesn't like pda.

I use premade PDA 4g to 100ml so not in control of the nute to agar ratio but I am looking at making some MEA for my next project.
Portabello sorry to hear that, its not a nice thing to have to go through best wishes to you and your friend hope everything goes well
Also azur hope everything is OK with you also as in the other thread anything I can do from over here im happy to do:thumbup:
