It was VERY worth it, surprisingly potent. I'll post a pic of the area I found it when I can get back to the location sometime this week. I'm almost positive there were a few more within the past month that I dismissed because I didn't think they were actually cubes. I'll definitely keep my eyes on that area from now on!
I wiped up the spores from the print onto a cotton swab (Q-tip)... If I put it under a pile of manure in the same area next year how likely would I be to get a colony? Would there be a certain time of the year I should do that? Is there a better way? I wasn't very careful with them so it could've been contaminated. I did a bit of reading since last night, so I'll know better next time to be more careful and get a good clean spore sample.

Please go out and find more. Try to get some in situ shots if you can. What have the temperatures been like in the area?

It's been a warm summer. This was in a semi-shaded area, the past month or two has alternated each week between being dry and wet. This past week has started to cool off, getting down to around 50-55 degrees at night, then 70s in the day.

So you guys are sending more than flying carp North. Thank You very much. I can't wait till Almaguin has it's first outdoor cube naturally. We had a extra month of summer this year and I have seen more fungi than ever up here. We're close in latitude I believe.Never listen to the skeptics.

Huh, I wonder if the spores spread off of someone from an indoor grow and found just the right micro-climate?

It's my family's property... could be a neighbor or someone near by with a grow but i highly doubt it. Not many people within .25 miles.

Here's the area I found them:

This is where I found the new ones today:

And the 3 that I'm fairly sure about, plus 1 that I'm not sure (the big one):

Take a bunch of prints if you can, some cultivator is gonna want to isolate those cold climate cube genetics...
Big one looks like a cube to me also, hard to say for sure from that blurry gill pic, make sure it's bruising blue
Nice job, sir!

I don't think the big one is a cube, spores are brown.
