Panaeolus Cinctulus in a field fertilized with compost??

I found a bunch of mushrooms in a field that was growing corn last year.. Specifically what originally caught my eye was a cluster of mushrooms growing out of a corn cob. I am pretty sure that there was light bruising on the base of a few of them, no anulus, gills are attached to stem, will post a pic shorty but I have to know if I'm right. Spores are also jet black

The spore sprint needs to be jet black. Yours are brown. I'm no TI but have been looking at cincts for a few weeks. Also, a good indicator are light striations on the stipe that slightly spiral.

They probably look funny because I gave them a wash, tomorrow morning I can go out and get some fresh ones and pics of them in their habitat.

And these spores are definitely black, almost completely positive that all specimen collected from the area are all the same species. It seemed like someone spread a bunch of compost throughout the field consisting of corn cobs, and most likely straw among other things that these Mennonites compost. This is in South Eastern PA, Adams County

I'm not the best identifier but can say those are not Pans and look like Inocybe. In any case don't eat they wont make you trip.

My Guest 20%Panaeolus cinctulus or 30%Panaeolus olivaceus
40%Panaeolina foenisecii because the spores is like Dark walnut brown/Dark brown to purple brown. in image actual size
10% other species of genus Psathyrella

-------------------- Before assuming that any wild mushroom is edible, it should be identified. Accurate determination and proper identification of a species is the only safe way to ensure edibility, and the only safeguard against possible accident. Some mushrooms that are edible for most people can cause allergic reactions in some individuals, and old or improperly stored specimens can cause food poisoning
