Doubt it
I think everybody feel that way when they drink alcohol, like, "whoo yeah i feel so totally normal right now woohoo i'm drunk an super social", but the reality of the fact is it's just a part of being drunk is feeling extra normal, hence worldwise alcohol abuse
an yeah everybody who trips prolly feels a little extra weird sometimes but we all know that i guess

I doubt it
When I'm smoking weed 24/7 it becomes normal But being sober 24/7 feels completely different

Depends on what substance you're on, what you feel like sober, and what you consider "normal" to mean.

Sobriety is the thing that gives the highs their power and relativity. You gotta come down to be able to go up.

No, sobriety is its own delectable nature for each and every person who has found something substantiating within sobriety. We all feel, but the ones who adhere to sobriety will tell you that it is its own rollercoaster.
My "thoughts", get me HIGH...
Like, seriously, I had one wish a long time ago where I asked god to allow me to get high beyond command within myself without drugs. He gave me the ability to literally "think" myself into highs.
I was given that wish and it is pretty cool. I have had highs above heroin highs and meth highs just from thinking. What is actually happening when I achieve these highs is I am having the most beautiful wonderful thoughts and they make me rush, but after a while of doing this I work myself out so hard that I come down which leaves my body in a state where it is like a nod.
Psychedelics, well... I am perma tripping in essence.
You were not specific about what you are fucked up on though so this thread is kinda stal

I think there are a variety of ways that people naturally feel and it's a gross misunderstanding to believe that "most people naturally feel a certain way". some people feel energized, happy, have racing thoughts, distracted, some people feel focused and energized and happy, some people feel focused and unhappy, some people feel unfocused and have racing thoughts and are unhappy, some people have very few thoughts at all and are happy, some people have very few thoughts and are unhappy.
I do think that taking a substance can cause one persons state of being to mimic another given person's natural state, but only because of the specific relationship between the natural state of being of those two people. You can't say anything about "most people"

Generally my thought processes lately have been just me talking within my head. A lot, seriously, I don't stop talking in my head and it slows everything else down to a point where I have found peace. Yes, I talk with "spirits" I call them entities though, it is more like I get connected to a being and allow it to take over my thoughts and talk with it.
It's kinda how I learn, and I LOVE it. It's pretty amazing what the mind can do and I have gone down some very bizarre roads in that sense. I get information from the world around me as I talk in my head. I will say words in my head at the same time that the world around me says the words. Whether it be in a song, a person talking in the room next to me, or the television running in the background.
I find it interesting that my mind can speak that same word at the same time that it arises in these places because within the vast english language it shouldn't happen. When this occurs I recognize it as a good sign. I see it as a truth within whatever I was talking about and I let that thought flow and holy shit will I tell you that from the new thoughts that arise I get some new answers.
I do this continuously day in and day out and I am happy. I am discovering things, it's pretty fuckin cool. I literally stare at a wall all day and think, I cannot stop and I LOVE it. The interactions I have with other human beings are a secondary thing. I wrote a book, which I will give to you guys soon.

Schizophrenia has often been considered a kind of psychic / spiritual experience
I have no experience with your condition, but I can say psychedelics are different than my own meditative out of body experiences. There is a difference in tone and texture, but more than that, control and discipline. Its like you're dropped off in the middle of the ocean without time to build a boat or learn to navigate, all one can do is float with the current and witness their surroundings.
Do you meditate? I think anyone can benefit from meditation, whether Zen, Tibetan, Sufi or SM

Yeah, I meditate, but I have developed my own forms of meditation besides for what they will tell you. My favorite thing to do is this...
Play some music with the television on, while you are thinking/reading a book. You can even be creative with technology and play multiple songs at once, it adds substance to it. I'm not really reading as much as using the words around me I see as a tool. When I subject myself to all this chaos I start seeing shit, really strange shit within all the chaos and it is hard to ignore.
Kinda like when I talked about how I talk in my head and the world around me speaks to me, this is what I am after. This gives me a sense of peace similar to meditation, but it is not the same thing.
I don't meditate much in the way "they" tell you to meditate because this form of medication within myself is only used when I got a lot of clutter. It's good though, it does help from time to time.

Interesting idea, not something I would do myself as excess stimuli would lead down a very different avenue, but interesting.
Personally I prefer to be a leaf on a tree much larger than myself, differing only in detail.

Up to a certain dose and i agree. There's a very noticeable difference (ime) between consuming to take the edge and anxiety off, and getting fucked up for fun.
The thing is is I'm such a nervous wreck on a daily basis it takes a pretty healthy dose to feel normal.
I always thought it was funny how no matter what if you say "x helps relieve anxiety" 99% of people instantly think or say "X GETS YOU HIGH??"
I guess, if life without anxiety 24/7 is being high then yeah, for me it's just functioning.

I wish I could be like that, just another drop within a giant ocean. I don't like that so much though, although I do connect myself to the whole, we are all individuals, beautiful in all our imperfections and beauties, and I like to hold on to that thought process.
I see myself as just a leaf on a tree when I look at the divinity within myself because that had to have come from a tree.
But I see it like this...
You are a conscious being constructed by a world out there and a world within. You have what the world tells you you are, and your internal world which is what you tell yourself you are. That leaf within a tree or drop within an ocean is still there, but you got some other more important shit to deal with.
You are an individual with a lot of shit going on, like, a lot. You can find that peace within what I said earlier, but I say fuck that peace. Cause some chaos within yourself and mix it up and see how much you can change.
Just a thought, it goes against most eastern philosophy what I just said, but I see this as a new age where we may find some things within ourselves that are over the top.

I was referring to the philosophical lineage, as I said the details differ. My own views are rooted in many practices or studies, but they diverge where personal experience becomes a necessity.
Whatever a man's potential, we are dwarfed by the potential of the collective. What we find in Buddhism (etc) is the work of generations of devoted men.
Yet again, at some point personal experience must come into play, and there is so much room for interpretation between the various works, it is necessary to come into personal realization.
When Jalal-ad din Rumi met his guru, he was a teacher and a scholar himself, but he lacked experience. Its said that Shamus of Tabriz (his guru) took his books and threw them into a pool of water.
We learn from our ancestors and stand on their shoulders to build our own works.

I can agree with that, I mean, I am 27 years old right now and throughout my life I have learned a great deal. They say that once you learn something it is in your mind, kinda like an imprint that you can always go back to.
I agree with that in a sense, because things have stood out to me throughout my life within learning which have caused me to be the person I am today. 27 years is not that long, but actually it is a long time of learning and reading.
I like that though, the study of buddhism has been worked on for a long time with many teachers. That's pretty cool to me, in essence I am buddhist as I am christian as I am my own philosophy. I have developed a sense of awareness for myself within this world that I adhere to.
A man of religion is one thing, but a man who honestly tells you that this is their truth through searching, that is something that I will tell you is kinda rare. Sounds like this religion has been working itself for many years, didn't know that.

I think we're largely in agreement here, you're an interesting person and I hope things go well with you
Sometimes I describe myself as a Hindu to give people a general idea of my views, but if one has any real understanding of Hinduism, they'll also know how vague the connotation is there are many sects with vastly differing views.

Opiates make me more normal they completely get rid of my anxiety and depression, help me be more productive, help get rid of overwhelming negative thoughts and emotions and just make me a more happy and less hateful person.
However the problems are anger, addiction and withdrawal.
I'm down to 2x a week now but don't plan on quitting completely.
Its the perfect high to me.
