hey, all. i'm trying an in vitro grow and i'm wondering if this looks healthy. there's a white growth at the base of the fruits, but it is bright white and doesn't look like spider-web. will someone with experience advise me?

Looks like it's just mycelium growing against the side of the jar.

Honesty it looks like you could birth it. Id turn this into a cake grow if you can.

thanks for writing, mushierage. what would the benefits of birthing be? i wanted to try an in vitro because the chances of contams seem less, and if it gets ugle, it's contained. would birthing produce more, or bigger fruits? thanks again.

It would require a fruiting chamber. Fresh air is only gonna help that thing. Its also fully colonized and consolidated by the looks of it, so its pretty contam resistant.
Birth into an SGFC and let those fruits mature, then dunk and roll . Mist and fan as normal.
You'll have more pins and they'll get bigger.

like so

imho once a cake is properly colonized and placed into a sgfc chances of cantam before the first two flushes are slim to none. I believe yield is better if you birth the cakes but I am in no way an authority on invitro. I read somewhere that hippies neglect tek can yield similar weights. It's way more fun to watch them come up in a sgfc though
