Just started micro-dosing and I can't sleep.

This is my first post, so bear with me... I stumbled across a post of Instagram a while ago referencing micro dosing mushrooms for depression. I've been chronically depressed for 20 years, severely so for the past 3-4 years. I also have severe anxiety that is triggered by certain things, and pain and chronic fatigue which I guessed might be from the depression but it had been getting worse and worse the past few years. Like, staring out the window all day in a kind of catatonic state. So I was willing to try something new as I am sensitive and respond poorly to pretty much all pharmaceuticals. The only think that was helping was cannabis but even that was an imperfect solution.
So I got some Golden Teachers and divided them into gelcaps. My dose is about .18 grams according to my math. I took the first one Wednesday morning.
I feel like a new human being. I feel completely sober but so happy like I haven't been since I was a small child. ... I know I can write a lengthier post about this somewhere else, but I just wanted to give some background.
So I'm happy. I'm planning on spacing out my doses every four days so my next dose will be Sunday... but I have NOT been sleeping well. It's starting to get to me today. I never really had trouble sleeping before and as you can imagine, when you're severely depressed sometimes it's easy to sleep a lot. The last two nights I've slept maybe 5 hours and I'm used to 9. I'm relatively healthy as a side effect of trying to cure my depression on my own - I don't drink alcohol, no other drugs, no smoking cigarettes, I don't drink coffee, I'm a vegan. I eat healthy foods. Just wondering if there's anyone out there who can relate or who can suggest something. I understand that I need to calm the excited chatter in my brain...

yea it is usually difficult to sleep after a mushroom experience. If ure into meditation that usually helps. You can try watching a movie or listen to some of ur favorite music, just try not to dwell on ur thoughts so much. If u find urself getting lost in ur thoughts bring ur attention back to what u were doing.
I'm very glad to hear u are feeling much better, but as a cautionary measure I feel that u should space out ur doses much longer than 4 days.. Remember this is not just some regular medication that u can take every so and so days, this medicine is extremely powerful even in small doses. If u had a good experience I'd say try to ride it out as long as possible until it completely wears off.. Then when u are feeling down again maybe u can dose again. Just my two cents.

My life changed after taking a solid month to perceive the world as if I was the only person alive. Any anxiety that came I just blocked out the fact that anyone else exists, and let it become part of my reality. The ego is our enemy, and its fueled by sin, ans our sin is again at man, so if there is no one but ourself, there is no desire for sin, and the ego has no choice but to die. Ego causes consciousness to divide from the spirit and we lack control of ourself. Self reliance is key to the end of unhappiness

Im micro dosing too. I take mirtazapine at night. That knocks me out. Shooms do disturb my sleep. Make my sleep lighter and more dreamy. You are still getting rest in a light sleep so it isnt so bad. Surf the waves of conciousness..
Just wanted to follow this thread for info.

Thanks littlespider - I'll update as I go and let you know if I'm able to resolve it. I'm going to get some heavy indica to try and also some sedative tea when I go to the city tomorrow. I'm feeling loopy and tired still but I've had such extreme fatigue the last few years that I might have to just take it slow instead of getting so excited about having energy again and overdoing it. To be patient and kind with myself - that's always something I have to stay aware of.

Thank you I appreciate the thoughtful reply. I'll be very careful in my usage and listen to my body.

If you really wanna micro dose ignore the social media. Just dose a little bit and not everyday. Freedom doesn't come from doing the same old same old day in and day out.

Some thoughts:
Take the dosage in the morning. Starting frequency should be .1 grams every day or .2 grams every other day. After that, experiment yourself and see what works for you.
With 5 hours of sleep do you wake up rested? 9 hours in normal cases is not good and usually a symptom of some dis-ease.
Google kundalini awakening and see if that stuff resonates with you.
If you are starting to get better I would also advice start eating healthy instead of being vegetarian. Google Robb Wolf for an example. And again, after trying out, experiment what works best for you.
If nothing else, if the treatment is working and all you get is sleep deprivation I wouldnt worry too much.

UPDATE: Lowered my dosage, feeling better [Re: inhighplaces]

I ended up lowering my dose to .1 grams every four days and I'm feeling better and able to sleep 7-8 hours a night and feeling well-rested when I wake up. Success! I do journal every day, sometimes just to check in with myself and document my sleep, mood, energy, food intake, etc. I recommend it to everyone. It's so nice to want to write and journal again, something I haven't had the energy/focus for in years.

That sounds really good. Having enthusiasm for stuff really helps.
I took a few days off partly because of work but also i was having this heightened awareness all the time. I was really aware of my body and skin and where i was in space. I think i need to work up to that level of perception. After spaneding years in fogs and dissociations shit got too real too fast!

I've used microdosing in the past to self treat anxiety and did the same as you with about 0.3g doses once every 3-4 days. Over time my anxiety has greatly reduced because I've become more aware of myself and the importance of maintaining a sense of self respect.
I know that I've had serious trouble sleeping on macro doses of magic mushrooms but I don't think I experienced any sleeping troubles whilst microdosing.
I have had anxiety induced sleeping troubles but I mostly overcame those with the occasional use of hormonal melatonin once every few nights. It was effective at getting me to sleep by the time I wanted(9pm) and it kept me asleep until the morning where I would wake up generally refreshed.
