Anyone grease the groove?
    #23670471 - 09/23/16 09:12 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

It's a way to get strong easy but you don't build much muscle when you do it.

I want to get a bit bigger but I just don't have it in me to swing weights around anymore.

Does anyone have an easy way that isn't exogenous?

I guess bodybuilding is an easy way but I've always been averse to isolation machines and low weight. Maybe it's worth a shot.

if you want to get bigger, you don't need a bodybuilding routine based around isolations...

stick with heavy compounds, deadlifts, heavy squats, bench press, bent over rows, overhead press and chinups... a balanced routine including those, in the 3-5x5-7 range will do wonders for your muscle mass... you can add a couple isolations in for lagging parts, but you shouldn't need to do that for awhile.

assuming you're eating right, you will gain both muscle and strength... routines that focus on a million different isolation lifts and machines with a ton of reps and shit are more geared toward people on actual gear, or have really good genetics... the average folk wont make a whole lot of progress on routines like that and you'll likely end up with an RSI or 2.

starting strength and stronglifts will give you results guaranteed.. there's a simpler one too, but they're all based around the same concept... and they work... if you haven't been lifting solid for around a year, you don't need anything else.

I use greasing the groove mostly after I've been off for awhile due to an injury or something and need to build some base strength back, or if I stall out on a certain lift.

if you're 'swinging weights around'... they're way too light lol

stronglifts

this guy cuts the shit and has tons of good solid advice for people not using gear on his site, keeps it simple too.

I have a theory that if I pack mass on my calves and walk a lot then the rest of me will get bigger easily
