Causing Them To Spring
    #23716748 - 10/07/16 03:36 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Hello Friends.

I live in a part of the world where psychoactives (excluding Amanita) do not grow wild. BUT, I happen to be visiting family for two weeks in a part of the world that 100% does produce wild psychoactives. I was curious about this, so I asked around, and I have more than 3 very solid sources (family members) who have told me that if it rains and I go out into the cow pasture, I'll be 100% guaranteed to find them. I asked one guy if it was too late in the year and he informed me that he has been here in November after a rain and found a whole heap of them under the cow pies that are scattered about my family's property. This source is actually a biochemist, and he knows his stuff pretty good.

My question is this: If there is no rain in the forecast, do you think that it would be possible for me to take a garden hose and sprinkler out into the field to produce conditions that could make them spring up? Or would that just be a total waste of my time? I walked around hunting for a few hours earlier today and found at least a half dozen species of mushroom within a square mile (lots and lots of mushrooms around here), but from what I could tell none of them were active.

Thanks for your help in advance. More than wanting to collect them for eating, I just would like to have the honor of saying that I've found psychoactives in the wild and maybe bring one home as a keepsake.

I thoroughly enjoy the thought of you dragging out 100000000 feet of hose to water the cow pies!

Seriously though, no, you don't need to do that unless you just really want to.  If they are to be found where you are looking, the weather will bring them up naturally.

Side note, it's always been my understanding that active mushroomms found in cow patty fields are decomposing the root balls of clumpy grasses rather than poking up from under poo exclusively.  Don't miss the forest for the field

Lol. Yeah. Might be hard to explain to my family why I'm watering the cow poop too.
I have hinted the field and forest for the last few days. No actives, but I'll keep hunting. Thanks for the reply
