tripping at the end of the world

Hello, i have been reading for a while but only just signed up on the forum here and am still catching up on the many subjects that are being discussed, one thing i failed to find was a standard introduction topic altho that might easily be my own oversight.
So wy post it here? well primitive skills and bushcraft lifestyle(meaning actually abandoning the civilised world for weeks or months) is kindof my background and also how i got into psychedelics.
i wont delve into my personality here too mutch, its both off topic and not relevant since you will get to know me as time goes on, what i feel is more relevant is the experiences that shaped me.
So i have always been wary of "drugs" cus drugs are bad mkay... Or so i have been told most of my life xD however i never fit into society very well, i dropped out of school wen i was 13 and started working on a comercial fishing vessel until my 18th, wich is wen i hit suicidal depression and decided i had to make a choise: wallow in my own misery until i finally tied the litteral noose, or make a drastic choise... easy decision at that point so i packed a small backpack with only some basic toold and supplies and put all my money into a one way plane ticket to norway. Once i arrived i ofcourse knew nobody and had no place to stay, i would sleep on park benches until the police removed me and eat out of the dumpsters behind fast food places. this wasnt what ui was looking for however so i became disillusioned very quickly until i met a hitchhiking hippie from somewere in eastern europe(he wouldnt be specific saying it was not important were he was from or were he was going only were he was now). so we hitchhiked to sweden eventually ending up in the norrland region(i think its called that) were we parted ways, he would hitch a ride to finland, i decided i liked the desolation of having to drive 2 hours just to find a village. from one of these villages i hiked into the woods and built myself a little "cabin" wich was more like branches and moss draped over a fallen tree, and i collected berries and wild mushrooms(stupid in retrospect) and i guess since it was late september at this point you can see were this is going i got more and more hungry and cold, my lighter died on me, and the first snow was getting close, i was getting less picky about my food resorting to insects dead animals, berries in beardroppings and pretty mutch any mushroom that looked remotely edible, among wich were these red fleshy looking mushrooms with red/brownish caps growing near a bunch of fallen trees, i got desperate and gobbled them up... ofcourse 20 minutes later i figured "jep i fucked up this time" and the folowing hours i was rolled up in a ball crying wile my life flashed before my eyes wishing i would just die already, until the next morning i woke up hypotermic and hungry but surprised to find myself feeling happy and light for the first time in years like my sorrows just washed away and i got a clean slate. So i went back and gathered more of those mushrooms, i had no idea what they were but i knew they had to be sacred in some way. That evening altho still scared from the last night, i managed to light a fire using dry moss hanging from the trees and birch bark, striking sparks with my belt buckle and a rock(stainless steel knive... stupid) as i had practised before leaving home with varying succes, i then ate a handful of the mushrooms again, and ended up sprinting as fast as i could trough the forest naked, just running and running and climbing over rocks and fallen trees and then running more it was like the real me was finally free and wanted to enjoy its new freedom.
I could go on for hours describing the experience but most of all iam interested if anyone would know wich mushrooms these were and if anyone can relate to my experiences.

Total respect for the guy. He was looking for something and he found it. Reminded me of a Terence McKenna quote I read on someone's sig here.
Quote:
“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.”
