    #23715013 - 10/07/16 02:37 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

I bought these to make slants as they are PP5 but the caps melted in the PC

Is there caps that i can buy which will fit or do i need to buy new test tubes?

that link says they are PP not PP5,so mightn't stand up to 15PSI.

i have little tubes that are PP2 or 3, so I just cook them at 5PSI and they come out fine.

There are several types of plastics – some being safer than others. Plastic products are commonly marked with a number enclosed by the recycling symbol, which is typically found on the bottom of the product. This symbol is used to identify the plastic and recyclability of the product.

some plastic just won't hold up in high heat.
