hey was wondering if anybody had experience with the nesco food dehydrator fd-37? Not to beat a dead horse but i couldnt find much up to date info on this unit from our purposes. iv always used damp-rid & fans but thats become a issue so i found this dehydrator brand new in box for $20, i know a temp controlled unit would have been more ideal from what iv read however this was too good of a deal to pass up Plus i believe the masses are in on the "heat verdict" (it runs @ 160deg automatically) new to the dehydrator method but any advice would be appreciated (do Not want to disable heat source)

Well.... Mine goes LONGER!

Spore worker... Your dehydrator is fine..
Make sure your mush is cracker dry.
---Weigh your mushroom when you think it is done... record the weight.--
---Weigh it again in 30-60 mins - if it weighs the same it did before, it is cracker dry.
***If it weighs less-check again in 30 mins...***

I've been using a dehydrator for many years with no noticeably or mentioned lack of potency. If you're concerned about heat, don't be. Getting them cracker dry for safe storage is a must.
