Outdoor Psilocybe azurescens [ID] and ATL#7 Questions

Hi all, So over the spring I spawned azurescens to a bed of alder wood chips under my porch. I did it a little late in the season so I wasn't sure if I'd get any fruits this year. I went to check on it this morning and found these little guys. Do these look like azurescens or something else? They are very tiny. Also, my cat used the bed as a litter box a few times >:[ Does this mean any fruits won't be safe to consume? Thanks!

I also did three different beds of ATL #7 after harvesting stones- only one of those actually fruited and it was an extremely low yield. Those were exceptionally tiny mushrooms as well. We had a very hot summer so maybe that is the reason? I am pretty disappointed! I have a few colonized jars and am wondering if they will stay viable until next spring/summer when I can do another outdoor attempt?

The alt7 mycelium will probably die in a jar over a year. Put them in the refrigerator is your best bet there.
The first picture is one of the most common lawn mushrooms. It's a type of inky cap(coprinoid) and it's not Active. It might be edible but I can't positively ID it so don't eat it.

Oh man, that really sucks. But I knew it didn't look like azurescen I think maybe my cat digging up the bed may have killed it off. Before when I dug down a little bit I could see the mycelium but now it's nowhere to be found... Oh well, another lesson learned I guess. I'll have to figure out how to keep my asshole cat away from the next one. Or maybe I'll be surprised with some fruits next year.. One can always hope. As for the ATL I think I will do some reading and attempt to fruit them indoors. I like the appeal of outdoor grows because I'm a lazy gardener, but I don't want these colonized jars to go to waste. I've never grown anything indoors other than sclerotia which was perfect for my lazy and forgetful tendencies. Would it be okay to keep the fruiting chamber outside on the porch during the day (in the 60s) and bring it inside at night and when there are colder temps?

You sure you're not too lazy to bring it inside every day It will be fine, the bigger problem is making a substrate that isn't doomed from the start

What about a lazy woman? :p l am lazier in some ways than others. I guess it's be more accurate to say I am busy.. Indoor growing seems to have so many factors you need to constantly keep an eye on and tweak. Outdoors you can just let Mother Nature do her thing and observe. Of course you are at her mercy as well. I also enjoy experimenting and learning by trial and error rather than meticulous planning. So that's probably why I have so many failed attempts under my belt! But I still enjoy it so wth... I have some coir I could use as a substrate, but I am considering just trying to straight fruit with a casing layer. Would that give me a better chance of avoiding contamination? I would be using organic seed starter as a casing layer.

You may be able to get away with it as a lazy woman.
